Hi all, I purchased a 6in. Blue model 29-2 from Gander mtn. Back in late December. I took it to the range the next day and put a box of 180 gr. remington through it. It shot fine for about 30 rounds and then experienced problems with the cylinder, it would bind up in one spot. I took it back to Gander mtn. and the gunsmith on duty said that it appears to be out of time and they are going to send it back to S&W for repair. What experience has other folks had with S&W on wait time. I checked back with Gander mtn. a couple of times and they have said that S&W still has it. As of today I am still waiting

Don't feel bad, a few months ago I bought a decent looking, used 10-2 HB Blued, .38 special, with the original and rubber set of grips and the case at what I felt was a pretty good price ($225) From Gander Mountain.

If felt okay in the store but a few days later after cleaning I noticed it began to hang up on occasion. Took it to the range and it was worse shooting it. I didn't even bother taking it back. I sent it in to S&W and upon return it works Great. They replaced the hand, bolt, all of the springs except the main spring for $80.

With what I now have into it, is about what it's worth but still a nice package and it shoots great now.

I have had issues with a couple used revolvers I purchased. S&W repair service has always been quick and efficient. I learned to send them Priority Mail through local FFL. Otherwise shipping will likely cost you more than the fixit job.
