And there are sales among private individuals in the same state (but not in all states) that require no paperwork at all. Not sure how many states (like Texas) don't require a NICS report for dealer sales if you have a handgun carry permit. And that is a large number of Texans.

I have given away or sold more than a few handguns and long guns without administrative encumbrance. Just another benefit of living in Texas.

My CHL/LTC/CCW/by whatever name also means that when I buy a gun from an FFL there is no NICS check. One has to wonder how times THAT happens in states that permit it.
