Glad i live in Georgia. With my Weapons Carry License, I only complete the paperwork and I'm good to go.
The wait time here in Illinois is 6 to 8 days.

Most NICS checks I’ve called in for the past two months have gone straight to delayed.

I just bought a gun two hours ago. There was no wait time. I was in and out in 15 minutes. I looked at the gun which I bought on line. Filled out paper work. Paid for transfer. walked out with gun.There were three other people there looking or buying a gun but stock was not real bad.

Using a driver's license in Houston, yesterday my buddy bought a handgun in 5 minutes from starting the form.

Purchased a CZ Shadow 2 Wednesday about 4 p.m. took a whole 5 minutes here in central Indiana .

How did you handle the "amendment' issue or was it your first gun on a permit. A amendment can normally take from a quick trip to your licensing authority (not too common in my area) to a month or longer now thanks to that C19 issue
Had a permit since the early 1970s so I'm very curious!

My county (Schulyer) gives a coupon to carry, I always have one in my wallet. When I add this gun they will give me another. So technically it’s not listed on my permit yet.
I pick the gun up and have 10 days to get it added to my permit. I’m one of the quick trip counties. Takes about 10 minutes for me to fill out the amendment form, the clerk to print a new permit and me to give the the $3.
Schulyer is one of the most gun friendly counties in the state. County judge and Sheriff.

, where I live is a lot more time under any circumstance. As your aware of every licensing board uses their own rules as long as it fits into the overall state guidelines!Back in the 1970s I was one of my counties first instructors for the then new pistol permit safety class our county judge wanted!

A concealed carry permit in Oklahoma means nothing when you buy a firearm. They do the call in bit.
It sucks here now....
CC permit means nothing now. Last one took 10 days.

In Indiana, if you are delayed and 3 business days pass w/out ATF justifying the delay, you are able to take possession of your gun without a proceed notification. Burden of proof is on ATF and if they do not deny within 3 business days gun is good to go. I've only had that happen once and that is the way it played out, delayed for 3 days with no further correspondence from ATF. I picked up my gun the next day.

My Washington state concealed pistol license used to give me the ability to buy and take home the gun the same day. Thanks to our governor and attorney general I am no longer able to do that.

Used to be that way in WA - until I-1639 was passed last year.
I never once experienced a delay. I bought a few dozen guns over the previous 6 years and walked out with every one of them same day every time.
Since I-1639 it is a minimum of a 10 day wait, by law. Personally I've bought half a dozen since it passed and my wait times have been 13 - 22 days! For a CCP license holder who was approved on the spot EVERY time dozens of times prior to the new law.
Now what the heck is that accomplishing?
I think recent events have made a lot of folks realize the value of the 2nd Amendment. Hell, just look at what's going on right now, tonight, in Atlanta...
Just to add to the info, this last Friday I went into the que here. I was 2017 in line for the “instant” background check. Not a big deal really but it seems to be a trend. I was approved Monday afternoon.
Those with CCW permits here used to be able to “go to the front” but that has changed at some point too. Again no big deal but it was kinda nice.

But the firearms dealer is NOT required to transfer after the 3 business days if no response. It is an option, May choose to transfer.

LTC=Immediate walkout here in TX. I still have to fill out the 4473 and the FFL still has to make the call, but I don’t have to wait around for it and can leave with the gun. Love it.

Rationally, that is how it should be. If we have a set of rules those rules should apply equally to everyone.
Not that I fully agree with the NICS requirements, but if we must have these requirements there should be no exceptions. My $0.02 worth here.

You guys are lucky. Out here it's a mandatory 10days from the time the paper work is submitted till you can pick it up. And due to the virus, some people have waited as much 3 weeks. If DOJ wants to, they can legally delay for 30days. After 30days, unless you are "undetermined", you have to resubmit and pay another dros fee. If you are "undetermined", it's up to the ffl as to whether or not you can pick up.
Having become accustomed to living in the (mostly) free state of Georgia, either of these would be a really big deal to me.
