You guys are horrible for my wallet and my marriage. After reading a few threads on the 29 and 629 Classic DX models, I did some innocent web browsing and eneed up buying a 29 Magna Classic without box and accessories. So while that one is enroute to my FFL, I'm following a thread about a 629 Classic Hunter and in that thread someone posts a pic of their 29-3 classic hunter with adjustable front sight. So today I do some more innocent browsing and find one that 98% with box and papers. I couldn't resist, so now my Magna is in, but because my FFL is over an hour away, I think is smart to wait for the other to come in and make one trip. My wife will be less suspicious that way. Sooooo thanks a lot you guys. My "investment" justification is wearing thin with her.

I haven't added a gun in a while.

My last few acquisitions have been "sell one, buy a different one with the money". She doesn't complain at all that way. ;) :cool:

My last one was a 29-3. Love that gun. :D

My last "investment" also cost me a new dishwasher, mattress set, and a new purse. But hey when that dishwasher, mattress and purse are long gone. I will still be shooting and enjoying my "investments".
 
Hillbilly7 and gutterman, I don't have an agreement like that with my wife, but I do tell her that, that is what I'm doing. Selling one to buy one. And in this case I am, I'm selling 2 to buy 2, but I'm still gonna come out of pocket some.
 
My wife has an uncle with good hunting dogs.
When he gets a new dog she gets a new diamond ring. She has several rings. So my wife likes turquoise and now she has several necklaces. I find this policy keeps both of us happy.

This place is pretty bad on my "budget". Without KLYDE I'd never have owned a K snub (well, probably never.) and without DAI18 I wouldn't be getting a 4516-2. :D

I agree, its the pictures. But when someone discusses a model im not familiar with, I have to find a picture. So I get bit either way.
Lucky for me, my gun safe is at my parents house, so my wife doesnt get to casually look inside of it.
 
I knew a guy once that would sneak a new gun into the house. Then he'd take it down in the basement with a cup of coffee. He'd sit there for an hour or so banging randomly on something on the workbench with a hammer. After a while he'd come upstairs and announce "Honey, look, I made another gun!". I wonder how long he got away with that.
 
Whatever you do, don't even look at J-frames. It's terrible. You rationalize by telling yourself that it's so you can protect the family when you're outside. But then you need one for the car, the other car, your garage, etc. Then you need stainless, blue, airweight, etc.

Save yourself! Don't even look at them!

Besides, if you do, you're more competition for those of us who are already beyond saving.
 
Obviously, some posters need to get a handle on what the term "Group Therapy" means on the S&W Forum......:)

Ive had a few J frames, but they just dont do it for me. Ive sold nearly everyone I have bought.
 
Guninitis - n. When one is completely overtaken with the urge to forsake all reasonable thinking in which to purchase an unneeded firearm. This condition has no known cure. All who are inflicted with Guninitis should seek proper emotional counseling on this forum.
 
I got away with it for a long time because hand guns and rifles all look the same. But then she looked into my log book. It's ok everything is forgiven in time. I offered to buy her anything she wants. In 2010 I purchased her a new car a new Subaru legacy. I would buy her any car she wants o a vette, a bmw or Mercedes-Benz. But she's a simple woman with little needs and wants. I would do anything for her. She's my Angel. She's survived breast cancer twice and I survived prostate cancer. Nothing matters anymore. Everyday is a gift now. It's the next chapter or our 40 years of being married. Life went by so fast. Enjoy the ride.
I'm more interested in doing things for the grandson. Having fun with him every time he comes over. I love my family.

Now the 2010 legacy will be mine and I want to get her a new mustang. I'm getting a few new motorcycles.

My point is we only pass this way once and leave this earth naked the way we arrived. I refuse to lay on my death bed saying I wish I done that. My bucket list is almost fulfilled.

Bucket list

Buy the wife a new mustang
Buy me some new motorcycles.
Burn the tires off the motorcycles.
Remodel the house.
Build the grandson a 4'x8' slot car track.
Shoot, shoot more.
Some more s&w N Frames.
Built one more drag race car. Show my kids these imports aren't fast. Show them what real horse power with tons of torque really is.


I'm not ready for a dirt nap yet.

Treat them with respect, as an equal it doesn't make you less of a man. When you argue don't ever stop talking. Stay communicating. Never go to bed angry.

Fla guy one thing I miss about being single was all purchases were authorized by me. Fortunately my now wife is very fond of smith revolvers.
 
My wife is a coupon shopper she saves a lot of money. She was on the top ten list in a local supermarket for saving money. My point is when my LGS had the $1,200 new S&W n frames for $599/$699 I explained the deal to her. She knows if it's a good deal I buy it. I use my mad money that I save up.
