You revolver dudes are bad influences on me. Just when I knew I had it figured out, I read what was apparently an old thread about a dude who carries his Model 60 in his pants pocket. How easy is that? Yep, you revolvers guys have gotten to me.

My P239 weighs about 8 ounces more than my Model 60, both unloaded.

Some years ago, I cleaned the heck outta my Model 60 and stowed it in my safe thinking I wasn't gonna carry it again.

While I was running errands an hour ago, I got to thinking how my Model 60 is probably more practical in the area in which I live. Then I got to thinking about digging it outta my gun safe, cleaning it, and hitting the range with a box of ammo. It gets better. I'm thinking about cleaning the heck outta my P239 and stuffing it in the back of my gun safe and going back to my Model 60.

I couldn't tell you the last time I fired my loyal, old friend: my Stainless Chief. I'd bet I haven't fired that baby in a decade. I can't even remember when I cleaned and oiled it for long term stowage.

There is an exception: if I can't get outta going into LA, I'll take my P229, my old duty gun. Believe me, I've been pretty darn good at avoiding LA, if for no other reason, traffic will trigger a coronary.

I'm one of those guys that has a revolver in my front pocket all the time. J frames usually, sometimes a K frame (sorta - Taurus 617 is like a k frame's little brother who carries 7 rounds of .357), sometimes with a holster, sometimes without if deeper concealment is needed. Lately I even drop my 2" L frame 686 PC in my pocket for dog walking excursions since Irma knocked down everyone's fences and the morons down here let their dogs run free. The only time I carry a pocket auto is when I need max concealment and drop down to my BG380.

I guess my point is I'd like to offer my enablement if it helps the cause.

You got my influence.

Nothing like a good quality, solid revolver. Carry mine on my hip, OWB.

Just wait till you start Jonesing for big bore snubbies (I cant get enough of my Alaskan and am looking for a nice bulldog then my search for a model 69 begins)...Your checkbook will never be the same.

I put my 36 away when I was working days and "car and knife jihad" was getting to be as much of a thing here as in Britain and France. I just had WAY more confidence in a 3 1/2" M1911 in .45acp than 5 rounds of .38 Special to deal with somebody whose ONLY goal is to murder as many people as possible and then die.

I've since switched to third shift. A jihadi would be hard pressed to FIND somebody to murder at 5:30am in the west suburbs of Cleveland. Convenience has led me to go back to the .38 and a pocket holster (which fits nicely in the inside pocket of my parka). My Smith 36 is more than adequate for random meth heads.

Try Duluth Trading Cargo pants - carry my 442 daily totally available, totally concealed.

I've been meaning to stop by the new location that opened near me just to see what they're all about..hmm mental note to self check out the duds.

I make it a point when buying pants to check how pocket carry will work out. I fully understand why some, including me, prefer a larger gun but in my world there are a lot of times when it is pocket carry or nothing.
