So far today I have received five phone calls informing me that I have won a million dollars. The caller stated that he is in the Bahamas, he is very insistant and will call right back if you hang up on him. Is there a way to block calls like this? He called me twice in one day last week. I have my whistle sitting here beside the phone should he call back again today.

Do you have caller ID? If not, ask the person for their number so you can call them back. Call to make sure it is them, and then report the number to....

I am hoping someone else can jump in at this point. The phone company might be a good start.

We can program our phone to block a number. Last Saturday an elderly lady with mental issues was calling us over and over looking for her friend. My wife blocked her # and I suppose she is still dialing us. This is a service we have with our phone company.

Repeat everything back to them that they say to you. I have used this for years. Keep doing it every time they call. I have yet to have one call back more than once.

He probably won't call back because I claimed the prize.
Only cost me $4500 in handling and transfer fees to get the $1,000,000.
Duuuhhhhh- You should have talked to him.

some of the newer phones will block the call...you'll need to look in the manual to see if there is a code to enter. If not, the phone company usually has a number that you dial immediately after the call and it blocks it. It DOES cost to do that, tho.

we had a fax machine that dialed our number at all hours of the night. Talk about annoying, because I don't go back to sleep. Our new phone system has a call blocker on it, and that seems to be the end of the problem.

Man Lee, the guy really gouged you, he offered me the million if I paid the tax on it which he said was $500.00. I told him that I'd happily pay the tax, he could just deduct it from the million that would make the transaction very simple. Guess what? He declined to take me up on my offer. Surprise, surprise!

Sara Noh,

I admire your restraint. I've got a portable air horn next to my phone that they get when they call too much. All it takes is two of us, and he's out of the telemarketing business forever.
