The pup just loves playing with tennis balls-thankfully she doesn't eat them. This one was Ziva's 8th birthday present (I wish the other women in my life were as easy to buy for!). Grabbed this pic a couple nights ago.

Next month she goes to the rehab specialist to see if a brace is an option for her bad left leg, surgery not an option. She's been living a life of luxury-lots of soft bedding, no stairs, belly rubs, the hard part is reducing the quantity of food so she doesn't gain weight. She's at 87lbs as of a vet visit a week ago.

As a long time competitive tennis player I highly recommend Penn/Wilson/Dunlap hard court tennis balls( heavy duty felt):)

Never ever buy fake tennis balls (like from a pet store) the are not the same and get torn to shreds.

My JRT would never go anywhere without a tennis ball!:D

Absolutely only real tennis balls, learned that lesson a loooong time ago. The one she has is a Penn, got a few of them lol.

FWIW, we had a German Shepherd when I was a kid. When it got old, the dog developed cancer in one of its forelegs. The leg was amputated, and the dog kept on cheerfully for a couple of years after that.

I saw a dog just the other day like that. Three-legged, but doggedly insouciant nevertheless.

I remember realizing, even as a kid, that there is something special about a dog’s approach to life. Unlike people, a dog has no room for “Woe is me!” We can all learn something from that positive attitude to life’s challenges, whatever they may be.

Nothing better than a good ball that will bounce and does not have the
squeaker in it that drives you crazy.

Wash, fluff and dry, when needed..............

"My Ball" !!!!!
