Hey everyone.

I am seriously looking at a 3" J frame in 327 magnum (basically a model 60). But the darn thing has a backbored comp in front of the ramp site.

The slim size and 6 rds this gun offers is what I'm looking for over the model 60 or the model 65 (which I love). So can anyone recommend as source to either custom do a barrel (3 1/4" I think would be perfect) or can the barrel be "chopped" and recrowned? I ask the chop question because I never got an answer from Smith as to whether the gun is 3" barrel with or without the comp and haven't seen one in a showcase yet.

Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks. And merry Christmas.

Directly comparing the catalog pictures of the 3" Model 60 and the 3" Model 632 .327 Federal the 632 barrel is 3"+/- including the comp.

My hope is they will build one in a 4 or 5", or a Model 16 6" un-lugged before they drop the caliber like they always seem to do with .32 calibers.

I thought you could buy a 3 inch barrel that is for a model 632 (the original hammerless one) and have it installed. I think Brownell's has them. I will check on this.
