.22 Mag in J-Frames…What Models are There?? Would You CCW One??

No, I wouldn't carry a 351PD unless I had nothing else.

My son bought a 351PD.

It is super light fully loaded but after I chronographed several 22WMR loads with it, some the short-barrel version (didn't have any FED Punch to try though) it just wasn't very impressive compared to even a 22LR out of a 3" PPK/S.

- 22WMR ammo test -
50gr JHP, FED Game Shock: 927 mv, 95me
40gr JHP, CCI Maxi-Mag Varmit: 1126mv, 113me
30gr JHP, CCI Maxi-Mag Varmit: 1258mv, 106me
30gr JHP, Speer TNT Premium: 1266mv, 107me
45gr FTX, HDY Critical Defense: 1066mv, 114me

From a rifle the 22WMR is more impressive but unfortunately that won't fit in your waist band. ;)

I have a 361 air weight.22 magnum and I carry it when I travel in the car. It’s much easier to carry while driving, I also carry a J frame 38 special shooting wadcutters. It’s much heavier and I carry it in my local area.

That is interesting. Thanks for posting.

How has the reliability been with the PPK/S?

The 22LR PPK/S has done fine. Shot around 150 to break it in, the first time out, with no problems so far.

LOL, his big(ger) brother 380ACP has twice the power. :p

It's still a handsomely styled pistol all of these years later.

For all the silly new guns S&W has introduced in the past few years I’m surprised someone in house hasn’t tried to bring back a run of .32s. Their core group of buyers are all getting older and dealing with the issues associated with that. They develop the 30SC and a whole line of easy rack autos but can’t fathom that a modern 6 shot 32 Airweight would have appeal. Especially considering that they have the drawings and designs for years.
I just traded off my 351PD due to accuracy issues associated with the terrible trigger. I kept my 43C for a pocket carry belly gun.
