I think that's a good way to screw up. Look at the way they're holding the upper by the plastic and trying to loosen the barrel nut.

Gotta get those barrel vise jaws lol.

Also, Is it just a shorter 15-22 barrel?

If not.... Did they use the original barrel collar on a different .22 barrel?

Very interested

it's just a shortened barrel that they charge $232 as an

exchange barrel

keith:D

"This is what is commonly known as field stripping." Ummm, no, it's not. I've field stripped an AR literally hundreds of times. I've never removed the barrel during field stripping.

That about sums it up about Americans. Thinking only about their small world.
Have you stopped to think why they offer this?
No ofcourse not, you only think about yourselves.

This isn't an AR and if you do decide to remove your 15-22 barrel I hope you won't follow the procedure the clowns in the video use.

What are you talking about?

People commenting on the procedure used in the video?

To me, it looks like someone borderline trying to ruin their 15-22 by not clamping the barrel down.
What service are these guys offering?
A 12 inch barrel replacement?
Why do they offer it?

We can just SBR and it's the same thing.
Why else would you want a shorter barrel? ...to have a shorter barrel lol

I'm a little confused as to what your referring to in your comment....

I think everyone who read what Little Airwolf wrote had the same confused expression

Being a ....... on the internet because you can. Typically unleashing one or more cynical or sarcastic remarks on an innocent by-stander, because it's the internet and, hey, you can. ???

It does seem a bit of a sketchy way to remove the barrel, i would have been cringing if it were mine, especially when 'random guy' just grabs it, as the amazing human vice.....they have obviously done it this way before but still. If they treated my 15-22 like that...i'd set the Mrs on them. :D

The comment about why they offer a barrel service/ swap is un needed.
There are different laws about barrel lengths and what you can use in different countries.
Atleast here in Canada there is not such thing as a SBR tax stamp.
For Rimfire, as long as,
the barrel is factory built, 4" or longer iirc and the total length is 26"
Which means us Canadians cant cut down our barrels shorter than 18". We have to buy them.
Silly I know! But atleast no tax stamp and wait period.

So, what your saying is...... Your big brothers down south of you (I'm assuming your Canadian) are selfish and care nothing about other people because your don't have SBR tax stamps?

Lol.

My comment is needed because you equated all Americans to selfish dickheads because a group of educated people called out that "service" your referring to as unprofessional and in all honesty borderline dangerous down the road.

Your comment also has nothing to do with not having access to an SBR either.

Still confused as to what your whole rant was really aboot... Lol

I think it was iffy to take the barrel nut off the first time without the vise jaws, but I agree with the Englishman in the video it does not need to be that tight. And once you have had the barrel nut off once you can really just do it the way they did it. I have done it that was a few times after getting the Tacticool tools and doing it the first time on both my 15-22s. After that you can't hurt the polymer upper unless you mount it too tight. Totally up to you. Sometimes being in Europe would be nice, no SBR or Suppressor stamps. But then again we can buy lots of centerfire firearms they can't.

You got that right!
No semi autos unless its a .22

Its very frustrating having an M1A1 that you have to eject every round after every shot by hand

Yeah, I'm happy in The good ole USA

I mean, it's not like Europe has a progressive military. They just wait for us to come in and push who ever out lol

Just watch out for that Adolf Hitler, he's a bad egg.

Don't worry about him, the Russians will handle him ;)

Dont get me wrong..... but what year did the US come along to "help" push him out???

Pretty sure it took a while, and then only after a sneaky few planes came in and sank most of the Pacific Fleet....

As for the OP vid Link, I am very surprised at it, I got my super accurate Addiction from his store, sooooooo happy it came sealed in the box. :D:D:D

I actually got quoted more than Brownells, with a worse transit time from him as well. I don't think he wanted my custom :o

Might study your history a bit. If it wasn't for "lend lease" propping you up before the USA formally entered the war you'd have been in a really bad way. Dunkirk would have been one of your better days.

Off topic but yes, lend lease did provide plenty of help, so much so that as a country we are still "repaying" the help. :-)

However to take a step further back in "history" where did the pilgrims that founded the good ol US of A come from ? Oh yes, England, and if my memory serves me correct, from MY home town of Boston. :-)

I wasn't looking for a history lesson TC. Just making a comment ref the "force projection" you referred to.

Anyhoo, back on topic,

I was thinking of doing a shorter barrel on my Smith, may now have to rethink that option as something to do myself instead of sending upper in for a "field strip" like non I've ever seen in over 30 years in uniform.

Rob.

Maybe not England.... But we sure as hell pushed hitler out of France and kept pushing back to Germany. The Russians pushed west and south on the Germans. We were all from the west coast.

Lol.

Perhaps if the the NSDAP had not been bankrolled by the Thyssen group and amongst others at Union Banking Corp, Prescott Bush, we would not have got into that mess in the first place...oooo controversial Bush bank tied to Nazi funding - Washington Times and way way way off topic. Anyhoo if i remember correctly it was the Russians who seized Berlin and brought about the destruction and flight of the remaining Nazis loyal to the dead guy in the bunker. Strange that so many escaped through Vatican and Allied sponsored 'ratlines' as well...while I'm so off topic i may as well venture that all steak should be served medium rare...who enjoys well done? anyone? no didn't think so. :D
