I am torn between getting the 7.5 inch barrel or the 5.5 inch. Any suggestions?

I voted 5 1/2", as that is my first and only. Stoeger / Uberti 1873 Cattleman.

Five and a half. That shorter 3/4 inch should not make a difference, but to me there is a big balance change. And the 7 1/2 is too long for easy carry.

The 4 3/4" is my favorite.

I have been carrying a USFA in 45 Colt the last two deer seasons.

I am carrying it crossdraw in a Mernickle holster, very comfortable.

Mine is a USFA Bisley Flattop 5 1/2" .44 Special. I can shoot a 4 3/4" just as comfortably, but always felt the 7 1/2" too muzzle-heavy.

I prefer the 4 3/4 inch barrel.
The Sheriff's model is neat because it is compact
and still packs a punch.
While surfing GB it seems SAA are more and more difficult
to even find current MFG Colt SAA's.
When found they are getting even more expensive.

I found the 44.40 NIB($1100.00OTD) at a show last month few of the guys saw the purchase.
Had two since call asking if I would sell.

I'd take whichever I got the best price on. But all else being equal, I'd probably opt for the 5-1/2" (even over the 4-3/4"). The real answer here is: get both (all three).
