When installing a barrel shroud on the 15-22 with threaded barrel I understand to use a barrel vise block when removing the stock flash hider. However, when installing the the barrel shroud am I to just apply some blue loc-tite and hand tighten the barrel shroud? The inexpensive barrel shroud I am considering purchasing has two flats for a 1" wrench but it seems pretty sketchy and easy to over torque the plastic threads on the upper. Thanks for insight.

Hi,

I haven't got my 15-22 yet as it is still on the way here.

But just to give my 2cent, i would likely do what you have mentioned. Hand tight it and a blue loc tite since it is just an aesthetics to the barrel and does not have any function when firing.

You only need the shroud not to loosen when in use and i think hand tightening with blue loc tite will meet the objective.

It is unlike the muzzle break that lots of pressure pass thru it that hand tightening is not enough.

Hope this helps!

Not sure if the image size is allowed. As my first time to post pictues.

Just got my barrel shroud and it comes with this instructions. This should answer our questions. [emoji1]

I put some drops of blue Loctite and threaded on my barrel shroud, hand tight. Done and done.
