Hello to all of you from Norway:)

Last week I finally got my brand new S&W model 327 357 TTR after waiting since october. This revolver costs 1840 USD here in Norway. When I inspected the revolver, I noticed that the barrel/shroud was loose. I could twist the shroud some degrees and the barrel itself was also a little bit loose. Is this a common problem with these revolvers? How is it possible that a revolver can leave the S&W Performance Center with a loose barrel? Tomorrow it goes back to the dealer for repair/inspection. Hope I will get it back as soon as possible so I finally can get to try it at the firing range.
Regards Trond Inge.

Welcome to the forum.

No, a loose barrel shroud is not normal. I suspect it was tight when it left S&W and I would swing the cylinder open and examine the frame under the barrel for a crack. If the frame is OK, the nut at the muzzle will need to be tightened with a spanner wrench.

Welcome to the forum. Problems as with your 327 make me glad that I only buy guns at gun stores where I can pick the guns up and inspect them in advance. I'd hate to special order a gun and have it come needing work. S&W would surely take care of it, but what a nuissance.
