Barrel thread pitch

Yes, I put a model 10 barrel on a model 12.

I have not seen any barrels yet that were not 36 to the inch. That includes a X frame and a L frame. All J frames are .500 36, K are .540-36, L are .562 for one piece and the shrouded 44 mags are .638-36, N frames are .670-36. I would need to go measure my X frame.

Some of the early 32-20 K frames had .500-36 threads

Just confirmation: Yes, all S&W revolver barrels use a 36 TPI thread pitch, regardless of frame size, caliber, or material. The barrel shank diameter varies by frame size. The only variation on K Frame revolvers is the barrel shank diameter from Model 1899 and Model 1902 guns prior to 1902 1st Change. The earlier guns have a smaller diameter barrel shank, whether .38 or .32-20 caliber.

I was going to answer simply YES, but replies require a minimum 10 character length.:D
