Does anyone on this Forum make and sell the S&W 15-22 Barrel Wrenches (not the metal part on E-Bay) but a complete PVC pipe one ?? If so let me know how much you would charge for one plus postage. I live in the Chicago area.

I would really recommend trying to make your own, its really easy.

can you get more specific on your link. it opened up a forum with 16 pages of replies. i didn't have time to read all of them to find this tool.

thanks.

it's cool to see Travis from Magpul using a 15-22. I love the magpul videos.

Ok if you have a lowes near by or know a plumber, get about 3 ft. of 3/4" pvc pipe and make one yourself. I made one in about 10 minutes with pvc pipe, some tape, and a dremel tool. I see no reason why ya'll couldn't do that.

X2. I found a post where they have one, but went to shot show and no pic.

there is a pic of it on page 15 of that thread in the above link. looks nice but there is no socket in the end so you can't use a torque wrench.

then they left for the shot show and didn't discuss when they would be available. they aren't on their website either.

i've got 8 ft of 3/4" pvc left so i'll just make a new one if my current one fails.

ah, there was my mistake. I went to the link in post #141 to find this:

I was getting excited, thinking maybe the next DVD was The Art of the Tactical Carbine (15-22 Edition)

Yeah, sorry about that... There's a picture of it at post number 288. I agree that a socket would be a vast improvement, but the thing I really liked is that it fit over the flash hider without having to remove it.

One thing I saw them sniveling about on that post.
"I would sure rather not have to remove the flash hider every time I remove the barrel. Not to mention re-indexing the hider every time."
The problem with that is, the diameter of the flash hider is larger than the diameter of the barrel nut. That means the barrel nut will not fit over the flash suppressor, so you can't get your rifle apart.
The diameter of the Forearm End Cap is even smaller. Ya gotta take the muzzle device off to remove the barrel.

i've never had to remove a flash hider/compensator but i can't imagine it's that hard, is it? as far as reindexing goes, how many of us truly need to avoid gases being diverted down at the end of the barrel? i know, it can kick up debris, but unless you are shooting prone on a bare patch of dirt or sand, will it make much difference?

hassle for some, yes. is there a way around it, appears not.

It's way easy, plus the crush washer is springy. You can get several removals and re-installs on a single washer. And their cheap, 1-2 bucks. Indexing does not matter with an A1 birdcage.

I really cant imagine a 22 kickin up tht much stuff anyway... and the comp. just screws off... so screw it off and move on, life will not stop, i swear:p

Amen to that. Some people can't get past things being lined up perfectly, me included, but I have ways to deal with it and not complain.

Serioulsy why would you be removing the barrel that often anyway? If you want to take the barrel off to get it threaded or to replace the barrel is one thing but why would you ever need to remove it for anything else?

It's a rimfire afterall so all you have to do is pull a snake through it every 5000 rounds or so.

Some people get really particular about how clean is clean. Clean enough to function and not rust is pretty good. Or if you want to switch from the standard quad rail to a freefloat hand guard, you need to switch out the barrel nut with the adapter.
