Has anyone used the Barska product line? Great prices, almost looking like that too good to be any good kind of prices. Just wondered if there is any experience with them here. I have the MBUS sights, which seem to be OK out to about 25 yards once dialed in, but would like something better of course.

My only experience is with their 4 reticle reflex. It worked just fine on my 22 caliber 617 but on my 10mm 610 it would NOT hold zero. On the plus side, it was cheap and the reticle image was sharp as a tack and the 2 MOA dot was truely 2 MOA and made shooting accurately at 50 yards a cake walk.

I'm also under the impression that it's a Russian product and a long history of tinkering in photography has informed me that the Russians were and are capable of making lenses that were the equal of any lens maker on the planet.

This may not be a common experience. :mad:
Mine would not hold zero and the top turret fell off. Barska wanted me to ship it back (and forth) at my expense. I was to enclose a non-refundable $20.00 money order for them to determine if it was "their fault":eek:. If it was their fault, they would repair or replace. Approximant turn around time; 2 months. If they determined it was not their fault, they would send the remains back. I saved the battery and tossed it in the trash. They lost me as a customer and I recommend others not buy their product.

I've been using a Barska 3-9X42 IR Contour Scope since August.
3-4K rounds and no issues what so ever. Had some concerns initially, but it turned out to be an ammo selection issue, not the scope. Well worth $80 cost, IMHO.

Dime store optics can be great, but sometimes there is quality control issues which usually show up right away. When buying such optics I think it is a good idea to deal with vendors like rrages.com. He knows what he is selling, you can contact direct, and if for any reason you are not satisfied with the purchase he offers a 100% money back guarantee.... and not some dance around with the factory or importer.

Barskas are one notch up from the NC Star garbage you see at all the gun shows, and that's not saying much! Do yourself a favor and save up and buy a good scope or sight right away, you will never be disapointed if you buy decent optics to start with - buy once and cry once.

Barska = Shat.....

Sorry I am a little bitter, I tried to test on out and go cheap. I got burnt.

Sorry just sayin......
