Colt SAA .38-40 my work again, African ivory again, an un-registered gun I bought the last day I was leaving NY when I retired in '81 ---

Family .45 auto, 1918, belonged to my cousin, in 1930s we shot up a storm with a nail keg of loose .45ACP one of his ranch hands brought back from National Guard camp. Gun looked wore out even then & I bought it from his estate a few years ago for $150 & dipped it in the renew vat for half an hour ----

We call them pimp guns. This one is a Colt 1903 .32 Auto hard chromed with faux ivory grips.

Not a "pimp gun" but a subdued classic! A "pimp gun" is a nickel-plated .32 1903 Colt, with faux black "pearlex" grips. (I know, because I saw one in a bawdy house on a back street in New Orleans.)

Shhhhh... that's just our little secret! ;)

Wolf & Klar was a Texas dealer/distributor who got S&W to put the lug back under the barrel of the N frame. This became known as the 3rd Model, the first was the "Triple Lock" and the second is the 1917 type with the exposed ejector rod.

I'm glad this thread got resurrected yet again, very nice collection guys!
