This is a TX BBQ gun. It's so bright I had to take pictures in a dark room.

C. Broad,

Great job on compliation of your list. I would like to suggest an addition that would fall under "Signaling Device." This would be a large caliber, with loud report to signal to neer-do-wells, malcontents, reprobates, miscreants, malingerers, etc. that the posessor of such "signaling device", upon report from same device is, indeed aware of their presence in the immediate area. This device has been used successfully to alter the intent of said neer-do-well. Given the proximity of signaler to current position of malingerer.

Just my two cents,

Regards

Bill

Large Caliber Hard Hitting Handgun that will nearly break your wrist and Scare the Bejesis Out of other people shooting next to You on the range such as.460 XVR , 500 Magnum, .50 cal desert eagle, etc

I believe these are classified as : "Hand Cannons".

Dont forget that with a BBQ gun, you have to have a really gaudy, girly looking leather holster, with flowers or such stuff on them

OP, I would like to respectfully ask that you add the "Bubba Gun". The "Bubba Gun" started life as a really good piece, but in an effort to "make it better", it became something other than what it was intended. Hence the phrase, "Man, he has really Bubba'd up that gun!"
A "Bubba Gun" might look something like this.

The ATF would call that an "Illegal Short Barreled Rifle"

How about the "Grail Gun" - a gun that's eluded you since the day you made up your mind to get one, or a gun you'd gladly give up an appendage to own... :D

The older I get
The harder I see
The bigger the belly
The smaller the gun

The belly gun,,,kinda like a pillow gun by day just tucked under yer belly ...

Throw Away Gun

A firearm, usually a handgun or revolver, which is kept and intended to be fired once or only during one incident, usually for illegal purposes, and then discarded so as to remove suspicion from the weapon's user. Serial numbers may be filed off and the gun is usually unregistered and illegal to even own, and care is always taken to not leave prints on the gun so that it can't be traced back to the owner that way should it ever be discovered. Usually kept somewhere hidden and safe as a "Plan B" should the owner ever need to have access to a gun that can't be traced back to him.

Naaa Bro she shoots great I bet there are .44 Mags with more recoil.... She does have a bark and a bite to her though lol lol

We seem to have missed a few.

1. The Texas Deringer: A revolver with a barrel length of no more than 4 inches in calibers of 41 mag or 44 mag.

2. The Boot Gun as in cowboy boots. This is a weapon/weapon system normally paired with a blade for carry into the urban jungle to ensure the wearers survivability .

3. The cocktail/formal gun. This is normally a gun no larger than a .32. Its can be carried in the womans evening bag or in a thigh holster. Of course for evening functions a high polish stainless version is the norm. Grips are expected to be Ivory or Mother of Pearl and the gun itself must be engraved.

Since throw away gun was mentioned we cannot neglect that other favorite of those of low character, the Throw Down Gun or Drop Gun. These are carried for the purpose of bolstering your claim of self defense. When you discover the guy you just shot was unarmed you covertly throw or drop this normally cheap and usually broken firearm next to the body. A staple of cheap detective novels.

I love the "good neighbor gun" definition. A good neighbor once dispatched a skunk (with a quiet .22) that ended up in a Havahart trap intended for a pesky raccoon. It was early morning on a very hot and still August day. The skunk sprayed all over the back porch and beyond before expiring. The neighborhood stunk for days, thanks to the "good neighbor". I still laugh every time I think of this episode.:D:D:D

How about a "walking around gun"?
A walking around gun must be sturdy and ready to go.
Minimum caliber shall be 38 preferably with hollow poings
revolver shall be carried in a holster costing no more than $5 and has to have been purchased at a local gun show.
Finish on the walking around gun can be blued with rust and corrosion permitted
Stainless steel guns optional
The walking around gun is for providing a modicum of security when walking around, example walking around your property perimeter.

I'd have a much longer list than what is posted
as that way my wife does'nt question why i need
"new gun X" for.
I have a turtle rifle for the river.
A varmint rifle for "well just varmints".
A waterfowl gun
An Upland Bird gun.
Several Deer Guns, (you have to cover
rifle, handgun, muzz, and shotguns also).
I've probably missed a few but its late and
you get the idea.

Chuck

More definitions have been added to the list. As I get time I will incorporate more of your suggestions.
This work thing gets in the way...

Well everyone needs a bathroom/library gun. Any caliber will do as long as it makes you feel protected while reading your favorite literature.
I keep my pre-28 on the top shelf above the toilet paper:)
