I'm mildly surprised they didn't object to your stogie.
From the pics, I would guess the "Sinewy" tribe.

Need to go back in a month with "O" in spelling and try oysters. Raw, steamed or fried.

It's good you could provide the opportunity for her to see her old pal, Snubby. Sounds like a great change of pace for her, a needed chance to recharge her batteries, as it were.
Sorry to hear about your mother. Lou Gehrig's is a horrible disease and that's what my Neurologist initially diagnosed me with. When my mother was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease, a lot of the family didn't want to come around because they thought they would be in the way. Pop and I put out the word to the family that they would be welcome to come to visit Mom, and that they would not be a burden to Mom. When we put out the word that having company would actually be a benefit to Mom the family started coming around.

After further testing though my final diagnosis was Multi-focal Motor Neuropathy.
It's similar, not as deadly, degenerative, has no medication but can be treated with constant physical therapy.
Thanks, it's a lotta hard work but it's worth it. Gotta watch my diet and get regular workouts with lotsa cardio.Snubby still looks like he could "wup his weight in wildcats"....
