bead blasting

i have recently used some high grit sand paper and scotch brite pads to clean up a revolver. will bead blasting give me a smoother finish than the paper.

Bead blasting will make it look like this.

...and after that, you're options are to leave it or polish or can you do other things like matte or blue?

I would just leave it alone, it is a matt finish when done.
