I have been reading your opinions and bought my first M&P 15.
Brought a Sport 2 home yesterday with some advice from the gun shop. A few extra mags and ammo came home too.
So I would like to thank you all for letting me learn from your post here on the forum.

Good choice for your carbine. One word of caution, do a full cleaning
to get any shipping grease & storage lube off the gun and then lube well
with a good oil. See the many vids on U-Tube on how to do this if you have
no prior knowledge of the M-16, M-4 or AR-15 systems.

Will do. That was part of the advice I got from the gun shop.
I am soaking up all the knowledge I can on the M&P15. Never even shot one. Yet.
