Having lived in the Atlanta area since 1996 and now owning three S&W's that were shipped to Beck & Gregg I tried to do a little research on the old company. It seems that B&G was a large whole sale Atlanta business that moved a lot of firearms, among many other things through the years. My first acquisition of a B&G shipped gun is (top) a 44 Magnum that shipped June 18, 1956. Second is the 32 M&P, shipped August 16, 1950. Third (bottom) is an SV commercial 38 M&P from March 25, 1946. The 44 was purchased right here in Metro Atlanta and the other two made their way across the country before they made it back here.IMG_1953.JPG

I grew up in Atlanta. I received the first Ruger #1 shipped to Atl in 1968(?). Ser # 489. As I recall, I ordered it at Dean's Firearms and it came through B&G. All the new guns I bought back then came through them.

I remember Dean's. I bought a Model 67 from them in the mid 70's when I was living in Columbus.

My local Otasco sold S&W's. When I first became interested in S&W revolvers, I would look through their B&G catalog and have them check which guns were available. After a lot of agonizing, I finally decided to get a Model 34, my dad bought it for me in 1971. It was $98.50 IIRC.
