BEER!

Actually the older I get, I find myself getting away from the heavy darks and most micro brews.
Labatts Blue or Bud Light for this old Detroit Cowboy.

Shiner Bock is one of those dark beers that I really do enjoy. Their Dark Lager is also good. They are top of the line brewers.
I remember back in the 70s we used to look forward to Easter time in Michigan as we could buy Bock Beer by several different companys.
Pabst actually had a good bock and Strohs had their Stroh Dark which I enjoyed a lot.

Thumbs up to all of you who mentioned Pilsner Urquell; about the only time I'll vary from a european or a micro-brew is when I'm eating a pile of steamed crabs seasoned up with a whole bunch of Old Bay and then it's Coors Light (it tastes great with the crabs and you can drink a whole lot of it and still function).

If you're a bourbon fan and a beer drinker, you have GOT to try Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. It's exactly what it sounds like... An ale brewed in Kentucky and then aged in bourbon barrels.

It. Is. Amazing.

+1 on the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. I discovered it on a recent trip to Lexington and loved it. Now am looking for a source here. I have found one place that has it on tap, but have not yet located a source for bottles.

Generally I drink XX (Dos Equis), wonderful dark Mexican beer. I've just found Shiner Bock and it's really good. When I was in New Zealand, they introduced me to Speight's which is excellent. Won't tell you how much of it I drunk (actually I lost count and things got a little fuzzy anyway).

How about St. Ides. 8.2% alcohol
It's hard to resist a brew who's motto on the can is "Hold it down".

I drink Guinness or Murphy's almost exclusively, although I've tried a great many. I cannot abide pale beers except an occasional Kirin.

Warsteiner
San Miguel
Moretti
Great Lakes Brewing Co. Burning River Pale Ale
Mickey's
Tsing Tao
Asahi
Kirin

Ones I can unfortunately not get here in Ohio:
OB
Crown
Gösser

Last week I was surprised to find Tommyknocker maple in our local grocery store. It was pretty good. Haven't even thought about Tommyknocker in years.
