Behlert Browning Hi Power Value

IIRC you only got 1 or 2 mags with a chopped down AB Hi-power.

Anyone remember what extra mags cost? All I remember was the price of another 4 extra mags stopped me from getting one...........................

I was saved by the 469 being released

I think you did extremely well.

A known master gunsmith with work he was known for. The receipt is almost as valuable as the gun. IMHO, you got away at about half what you could potentially realize thru a GB auction. I'd be willing to bet it runs like a sewing machine as well

Congratulations.

Thanks for sharing it.

Could never afford the asking prices they were asking prior to Browning/FN
making the decision to cease making the Hi-power. Settled for a FN high power from Israel. Had the mag disconnector removed and has a decent trigger. So on my now infrequent range trips that's one 9mm that goes to the range with me. Meg-Car make good magazines for spares. Tested them and all work as well as the one factory mag I originally got with the pistol. Frank

I recently passed on a beautiful condition custom at a local shop. May have been done by Cylinder and Slide. It was on consignment for $1400 and at todays prices for a standard HP, it was probably well worth the asking price.

Mine also 69 vintage

I just watched this T series with a tangent sight sell on GB for $630 (with the new taxes and fees they charge + shipping the buyer was over $700 - before the transfer costs). Sounds like a good deal huh? Except that it was nickeled at some point and then apparently left in a tub of salt water as a significant portion of it was rusted, had a broken grip panel, was completely missing the magazine release, and as stated in the listing "Does not dry fire". About the only thing it had going for it was that at some point someone checkered the front/rear strap - fine line checkering so it probably didn't cut through the corners, but the pictures weren't very good and the seller didn't respond to my request for closeups. Just as well, I told myself I wouldn't go over $450. Not sure how the buyer justified the price to him/herself, but they must have really wanted it for some reason.

Basic Belgian made P35's here are going for $1,000-$1,500. Non-Belgian made models are cheaper, but even the Turkish copies are going for $1,000 at Academy Sporting goods which is normally cheap.

Was at a gun show recently (go figure ) and there were a few of the old police imports from Europe for $900-$1,000 each.

Several FEG (clones/copies) were $700.00 . . .

So, add me to the group above that says you should have already bought it. :)

My Behlert Precision catalog from 1990 shows that he was still offering the mini. He gives an "average" cost of $1250 plus the donor gun. I don't see a cost for extra magazines. He said that he could "mini-ize" other pistols too.

This was right around the time I was old enough to buy handguns and the shop had relocated to Pipersville, PA. I was within convenient driving distance and had been there quite a few times. Somebody out there owns a 25-7 with a moonclip conversion and a trigger job that Austin did while I waited.
