I have a 20ga M2 w/comfortech stock, 26in barrel, screw in choke tubes. Has shims to adjust stock fit. I love the feel, shoulders very naturally for me. Recoil is mild and cycles anything I have tried, mostly Remington, Federal, Winchester target loads. Just wished they sold a 18 or 20 inch barrel so it could pull double duty.

I would only issue mild caution if defense is your intended use. The gun's inertial system requires a firm resistance at your shoulder to cycle. If somehow you had to shoot it one-handed, or with little or awkward support, ONE shot may be all that you get.

I have a M3 Super 90 with a folding stock....amazing gun!
If it says Benelli on it you know it is quality

You might take a look at the Franchi Affinity. Benelli and Franchi are both owned by Beretta. The two guns use the same inertia drive recoil system. The main difference is the Benelli has the recoil spring in the butt stock and the Franchi is around the magazine tube.

I hunt with 2 guys, one has a PHD the other a Master's and they research everything! Two years ago, without conferring with each other, they both showed up with Affinitys. I bought one as a gift for a young friend in South Dakota. His family runs a pheasant hunting operation and I have known him all of his life. I had given him a 20 gauge Franchi AL 48 several years ago. While we were hunting one day he told me he really wanted a 12 gauge for waterfowl and so he could use the reloads his family turned out by the bucketfull.

Franchi had made a cosmetic change to the Affinity and the older style was being heavily discounted. I gave it to him as a HS graduation present and he is thrilled with it. He has unbelievable eye sight, he was a world champion archer and he is deadly on waterfowl and pheasants.

You might look at the Franchi as they are cheaper than the Benelli, but pretty much the same gun.

I had a M2 with 18 inch barrel and pistol grip, excellent fit and finish, I sold it and Built a 1100 to meet my needs for a house gun. I shoot ONLY #7 shot in it within my home, I do not scribe to the Idea Buck or #2 shot is needed...good way to kill someone in the next home, as Ive posted before I was a ER /RN and have seen chest shots with bird shot several times...the Pt was quite dead. I own a 390 and 686 beretta first class shotguns...the Italians build excellent shotguns.

I have an HK marked M1 Super 90. It's a police trade and had, who knows how many, rounds though it before I got it. I've put at least 1K rounds through it w/out any issues. As stated, they can't be limp wristed or they won't cycle. It eats everything I've put though it.

I did make a couple of changes: I put on a bigger charging handle, and I switched out the pistol gripped stock for a regular/conventional stock. I changed the stock out as it didn't feel/shoulder right for me.
