Beretta M9A3 now made in Italy!

Seems bad Quality control was 1 of the reasons! The Tn. Hillbillies just couldn't do it right!

I live in Tn. and have a Tn. made one and got extremely "Lucky" and got 1 good one! Now i will have to get a better one made in "Italy"!

I have a 1985 Model 92F made it Italy. Smoothest action pistol I have ever handled. Never shot a Berettas made in the US so I can't comment on Italy vs. US made ones. Just know it would be hard to improve on the quality of mine.

Bad Quality Control…What? Just recently bought a NIB Beretta 92FS made by your fellow citizens in TN. Great firearm. Where did you get your info?

If true, it may simply be for production capacity reasons (other models may sell better domestically than Beretta 92 variants), or the fact that the military contracts for the M9 have ended. (Not a 92/M9 bashing comment, I like mine ).

OK, it seems the source of this "item" is an almost throwaway comment on the AR15 forum. Not what I would call a 100% reliable source.

We made up hundreds of M9 General Officers pistols at the USAF gunsmith shop. In fact I wrote the procedure for doing it. Standard issue to Brigadiers when they got their first Star. Wonder if that will continue? USAF still has lots of M9s that could be used for that purpose.
