I bought myself a Father's Day present today. I found a Beretta PX4 Storm at the gun store today. It has some honest wear and tear, but the insides look good. It may be more holster wear then firing. It came with the case, 2 14rd mags, a loader, 2 backstraps and all the paperwork.
It is a 40S&W, so it was priced at $329. It seemed like alot of gun at that price and I decided to pick it up.
Now I have 2 .40 pistols and only 150 rounds of ammo. I'm going to have to look around for more.
I think this is a compact, I'm not sure. The box didn't have any label on it, so I can't look up the model number.
They have a great reputation as far as I can tell. The price was right.

I had one for several years but finances forced me to sell it last year. They are a great pistol; much more for your money than a Glock, IMO. Mine was in 9mm but I assume a .40 will work out well. Finding .40 factory ammo is easier and cheaper for what that is worth. Enjoy it!

I’ve got a Cx4 9mm Carbine and it’s a good gun. I’m sure the pistols are too.

Here’s a photo comparison of the 9mm sub-compact, compact and full size I swiped off the net. It should help with the ID.

Congratulations.

I was actually considering getting a PX4 Storm in .40 S&W as my carry gun a few years ago, but they were a bit too expensive to fit my budget at the time, and reconsidered getting one in .45 ACP last year as a new carry gun, but by then they had become unobtainium.

They're a interesting design with that rotating barrel, (which I hear reduces felt recoil) and DA/SA hammer fired in an age in which striker-fire guns have become the norm.
Personally, I prefer DA/SA hammer-fire pistols over DAO or SAO striker-fire pistols, although I'm currently carrying striker-fire pistols due to the lack of availability of alternatives.

They are great guns. I've had one in 9mm for a long time now. 100% trouble free, and a smooth shooting handgun as well. Congratulations! That was a great price, especially in today's market.

Very under appreciated in my opinion. I have the compact (mid) size in 9mm that I purchased to help my kids transition from rimfire to center fire. It impressed me so much that I bought some holsters and started carrying the thing.

My sample of one has digested everything I've fed it and it shoots like a laser beam. It's capable of far better accuracy than I am.

I added stealth levers and night sights, I have considered a "D" spring but the double action pull is smooth and consistent as is so I'm not sure if gain much.

I'm sure you will be happy with yours.

Congratulations. I really enjoy my PX4 FS in 9mm. Yours is the Full Size (the number of cuts on the front for press checks is an easy way to tell from photos). Beretta USA runs sales from time to time that are excellent (last night it was 50% off) and you can swap out lots of parts on the PX4. Wait til you shoot it, nice smooth shooter with its rotating barrel design. Enjoy!

I too have one in 9 and one in 40. I sent the 9 to Langdon and they did an outstanding job on it. If it's going to be your carry gun I highly recommend them.

And do the D spring thing. There is a noticeable difference and it takes about 5 minutes, mostly taking off and putting the grips back on.

I just put my first laser on the 9 but now must find a holster to fit it. (If anyone has any suggestions, don't be shy.)

You'll like this gun.

(Note: The compact uses the same rotating barrel. The subcompact does not, it's a traditional linkage.)

I do not have Storm but a Beretta Cougar in 45. The difference is the Cougars alloy frame vs the Storms plastic frame. Both have the rotating barrel. Mine shoots great with low recoil.

I had a Compact in nine so last year when a police department was surplusing off brand new Compacts in .40 for $329, I jumped at it. I have not regretted it. I hope that you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.
