Bersa 380

Shot a Bersa .380 yesterday. It seemed to be a well built pistol, I think is was a model 330, but my memory is not good.

Anybody know anything about these firearms? The guy said he might take 200.00 for it.

Perhaps a 383 (which is the older version of the Thunderer)?
The Thunderer is also very popular...minor differences, I have a Thunderer and am quite pleased with it. For the amount of money involved, I would buy it....perhaps you could negotiate a better deal which would sweeten things even more.

I have a Thunderer, and very pleased with it. Easy slide to rack, light trigger, good safety, reasonably accurate. It's one I'm trying to get my wife to like.

Good price on that Bersa. They are a solid gun.

However, after shooting a Sig P250 in 380, I'm not sure I want a blowback gun in that caliber ever again. The locked breech mechanism and the polymer frame tames 380 recoil down to nothing. It also takes 12 and 15 (with extender sleeve) round magazines and is DAO. It's like carrying a 12 round revolver.

I had the older version and it was a well built handgun. Sold it to someone that needed it for his wife's CCW and didn't have a lot to spend.
I'd have no qualms with buying another!

After being bitten twice by my PPK, I traded it, 17 years ago, for a Bersa Thunder 380. It has been a solid performer and even saved my life once.

I no longer carry it as I am now in the LCP camp but I still enjoy shooting it when I can.

I have a satin nickel .380 Thunder, shoots great. I also have a matching satin nickel Bersa .22lr, it shoots great too. Both are nice guns for the money.

I had one for a while. It was a solidly built " old school" pistol. Shot well too. That said, I traded it off as it was unnecessarily heavy and large for carry considering it's caliber. ( I still think there are WAY better choices for that purpose.) It was a fun range gun as I remember though. I'd consider buying another at $200

I have a Bersa Thunder 380. I've found it to be every bit as fine of a firearm as my Sig Sauer P232. Those German engineers in Argentina are designing some really fine handguns in larger calibers too. Mine has been reliable, not picky about ammo and
accurate.
For a 380 pistol, as fine as any of the (lot) more expensive 380 offerings.
For daily packing for me, it's my Shield 9mm.
A 380 loaded with Underwood's Xtreme Defensive ammo? May serve well as a SD pistol.
My other EDC is my Sig P320 Compact. So, I'm not pushing the little Bersa, just giving an opinion for the poster.

I have two. Well, one's my wife's. Mine has over 12,000 rounds through it. It has been sent in for warranty repair twice. Once when the decocker broke and once when the e clip that secures the trigger bar came loose.

The wife's has maybe a thousand through it. No issues so far.

Good guns, lifetime warranty. What's not to like?

I have no direct experience other than watching a student in one of my classes with a .380 Bersa. He competed the course with no issues. Any decent handgun for $200 would come home with me.

Very little experience with one. A friend bought it. I don't remember much about it except none of us could hit anything with it. This was around 2001. My friends and I were just starting to get into guns, we weren't great shots but I never had problems knocking soda bottles off from 10-15ft. But this Bersa couldn't hit anything. So it's hard to say if it was the trigger, us or the gun.

I had a Bersa Thunder 380 Plus for a short while. The main reason I chose that model was, because it holds 15 + 1 rounds. All other models I looked at, only held 6-8 rounds. Although it's a solid metal gun, it's blow back operated and as such, kicks like an angry mule. After just one range visit, I was left with 2 blisters where the corners of the beaver tail would impact my hand each time I fired and my hand was a bit sore afterwards.
I think a locked breech design would be a better choice and if ammo wasn't so expensive, I might even get one.

Wife had Thunders in 380 and 22. For under $500, a EDC and a practice gun. Then she discovered the G43 and it was love at first sight!.

Nothing wrong with the Bersa=my buddies at the gun shop all thought it was VERY well made for the price.
