Besides a few S&W's (Including a 1st year 1964 production) in .41 Magnum I have a Freedom Arms Model 97 and a scarce Marlin lever action chambered in it.

And currently I am looking at possibly adding a nickel 1979 production 8-3/8" M57 to the stable.

I assume some of you out there have been bitten by the .41 bug??

I know the round did not take off quite as hoped due to the .44 Magnum being so popular and some have said "What's the point!"

But for me, I am a fan!

I'm a fan, but only care about having the S&W's. I have a 6" M57 and a M58, both "S" prefix guns. I also reload for them, haven't ever bought factory .41M ammo.

Have owned a few 58's but none in the collection at this moment.

However I do have the 4" 657 "Mountain Gun" and the un-fluted 657 6.5" "Classic Hunter"

IMO, the .41 mag is the best woods/bear gun there is. Pretty close to the .44 as far as down range energy goes, but easier to shoot. I worked as a hunting guide back in the day, carried an 8 3/8" on occasion ( not mine) a bit unwieldy for a quick draw. The the 6" was awesome. I would love to pick another one up sometime.

I have had a bunch. My first 41 mag was a TC Contender Super 14. I still have it and I recently added a MGM 18" barrel TC carbine to the fold. It is wearing a 3.5x10 Leupold and it is a tack driver.

Now as far as S&W's, I am down to two Model 58's and a Mountain gun. I had a rarish 3" that I regret selling. I still have a some Old Model Rugers, and my favorite is a Bowen Custom Old Model 357 converted to a 41 mag.

I also have a couple of 10mm semi autos because to me they are very similar rounds.

I have a couple 3" 657s, but the 41 mag, albeit a great round, has never interested me. Perhaps because I have several 357s and 44s and enjoy the option of shooting 38s and 44 specials; conversely, I own and enjoy two 610s and several 10mm autos.

Oh boy, am I ever a .41 fan! I just loaded some 210's with HP-38 tonight and I have a SFPD 58, a 4" 57 and a Ruger 6.5" Blackhawk in the mighty .41!

The loads from tonight

I started out as a fan of the 44, while our son was the 41 fan. He currently owns a 6" S-prefix 57, a 58, and a 657. He took a doe at approximately 50 yards with a 6" 57-1, which he has since traded on the 657. He really likes his .41's. A few years ago I bought a nickel 4" 57, and recently a 4" 657 mountain gun. Mostly because these old eyes can't see the iron sights on the 57. Now I'm hooked on the .41as well. The milder recoil doesn't hurt either.

Judging from her smile, I'd say you are two .41 Mag lovers. I like to see couples both love shooting and such with guns.

Yes. Me. :D

I paid $500 in 2017 for this 1978 M58, powder, primers, 400 210 gr hollow point bullets, a 3-piece die set and 4 speed loaders.

I currently have close to 850 rounds for it.

This was the very first time I ever shot it and it was from 100 ft.
6 rounds. I have no idea where the first one went. :D

This is a really FUN revolver to shoot. ;)

You're kidding . . . Right?

This old 41 Magnum group photo was taken in 2004.

41-stable.jpg

It includes a Marlin 1894 CCL (#300 of 1000), Desert Eagle with both barrels, several T/Cs, one of my Dan Wessons and two for the Taurus snubbies, one in stainless and one in Total Titanium and one of the 125 Pythons that were assembled in Texas. . . Not to mention many, Many Smith & Wessons

In the almost two decades since them the count has easily doubled though I have not tried to do a new group photo. These include the very last Stainless Marlin 1894 Limited produced (#249 of 249), A John Jovino TERMINATOR, a Smith & Wesson 357 Night Guard along with a 357 PD, two 8 3/8" 57s, a Performance Center V-Comp, two of the 41 Magnum PDRs, Mountain Guns in stainless and blue and a Factory Class "A" engraved 4" with Culina French Cake Walnut Presentation Grips. Not to mention the ones I have not photographed yet.
