I have a lot of different style 1911 pistols. This would be a good place to review and get recommendations on 1911 accessories, brands, and parts that have worked well for me. I would like to get your recommendations too.

To start off Ive had a lot of good luck with Sig Sauer brand 1911 pistol magazines. Mainly the officer size Sig magazines seem to be very well made, function well, and most importantly they are VERY affordable!

Of course I got to give a shout out to some of the Pachmayr products. Mostly the Pachmayr wrap around grips have been EXCELLENT on all my 1911 pistols in both standard and officer size frames.

Also the old school Chip McCormick mags have been excellent too! Most notably the 8 round officer size magazine that has the smart base plate on the bottom so the mag does not "over insert" into your officer size pistol.

The same style Wilson Combat 8 round officer mags work well too but Ive had a hard time getting them to seat properly in some of my 1911 pistols as opposed to the CM mag seems to seat in all my officer size 1911s just fine.

As far as other 1911 parts Ive had very good luck with Klonimus triggers. With a little fine tuning and polishing work they can be very good quality triggers in your 1911. I didnt like the sloppy black aluminum Colt trigger in my Combat Commander so I tightened it up with this new Klonimus trigger and I think its a lot better. Better than that was the cost!

I would like to hear some good recommendations for 1911 holsters. Mainly for officer size 1911s.

Vietnam issue mag pouches have been cheap and excellent quality for carrying an extra couple of 1911 mags. Also the Chip McCormick 7 round officer mags have been excellent too!

I’ve had a bunch of Remington 45 Gold Saber given to me because it was jamming some Sig P series guns. I have fired a lot of the GS through my officer size Kimber without one hiccup.

I have found Kimber Tac Mags and Wilson 47Ds to be very reliable magazines. I didn’t know Chip McCormick made an 8 round mag for officer sized ones.

I’ve also have had Good Luck with the Kimber Tac Mags. I also like the LOK G10’s on all My 1911’s. They are a little slimmer and offer great Grip without being abrasive. Plus like the way that they Look.

Haven't been in the 1911 accessories market for a while, but I've used Colt and Metalform 7-round mags without issue. I've also used King's Gun Works mags, but I can't remember how they did.

The most recent 1911 accessory I've purchased were a set of Hogue cocobolo grips. I really like them. Definitely worth the money, IMO. Put them on my well-used Series 80 Government Model.

The 1911 can be just about whatever you want it to be. There are tons of accessories by dozens of makers.
I will suggest that you resist the urge to just add on stuff because you think its cool. Figure out what you need to make the gun work best for you and don't do anything else.
In my case, I know exactly what I want to change in a new 1911. YMMV
A Wilson long trigger. I have used others, but generally go with Wilson.
I'm just fine with a standard grip safety. But if I get the urge, I'll install a Wilson type Beavertail. Honestly, its been years since I've put one in. BTW: The Brown style grip safety doesn't work at all for me.
I'm not a big fan of extended slide releases or safety levers. A few of my guns came with them and I left them in. However, I've never added any. The standard stuff works good for me.
I like an arched mainspring housing. If the gun doesn't have one, I'll usually put in a Smith & Alexander arched, checkered MSH. I like these.
Finally, a nice set of fairly smooth wooden grip panels. I'm actually quite partial to Colt's sandblast grips. Most of my Colts wear these.
And that's it. These few little changes make a 1911 fit my hand perfectly. I don't need anything else cause it would just be wasted money and probably make the gun work worse for me.
Bear in mind this is what I like. You could be completely different.

Let me say it again. Don't add stuff just to be adding it. make only the changes that you need. ;)
