Best 22 handguns.

Although I love my 617 and have been shooting it more the past few months, I really like my Volquartsen Black Mamba. It's built on a Ruger Mark IV 22/45 frame. Shoots the lights out of any other .22 I've owned.

My favorite is a s&w model 18-4. A close 2nd is a couple ruger mkIIs', a 5.5 target and a 4-3/4" standard of which I prefer the standard.
3 different bbl lengthed single-sixes follow that...
I own and enjoy a couple hi-standards in longhorn revolver guise and a 6" sentinel, 3 more s&ws' as in 2" 34 square, 6" 617 square, and a model 17 which is on par with the 18 but I prefer the 4"...
Also enjoyed is the 1st rimfire handgun I fired in Colt's peacemaker 6"....I have a n.o.s. 7" buntline bbl that will someday maybe make it on for sentimental reasons of my father and uncle who each had one....
Also owned and enjoyed is my 1st new purchase of a rimfire pistol is a 5.5" flat sided heavy bbl browning buckmark....I will be selling off all but probably my 3 favorite and practical use since my interests' and time spent with all of these has changed in the last few years....somebody will certainly enjoy them as I have...cheers!

My favorite is a M 617, 4", 6 shot 22 LR along with a 22 WMR cylinder. The 22 mag is slightly more accurate than the 22 LR.

In second place and used just for punching cans and the occasional Mohave Green rattler is the High Standard Flight King Model 103 in 22 Short. What a great plinker. It also came with an extra barrel in 22 LR. In the 30 years I have owned this handgun I have only shot two mags worth thru the 22 LR barrel.
