Best .45 Value (Not 1911)

I like my .45 Shield. I paid $365 several years ago and it came with 2 boxes of premium ammo and a mag loader. It is comfortable in hand, soft shooting, accurate and reliable. I can't comment on the other guns mentioned and have no experience with them. I did own a Kahr once, but didn't like the trigger pull (too long).
 
Can’t beat the G21 and or G30. I am not Glock fan it, but appreciate their utility, reliability and value.
 
Pre-panic popo surplus Glock 21s were in the 350 range. Every now and then I still see then pop up below $400, though it's a bit more looking. That'd be both the best value and best popular striker fired. 45 ACP for a general purpose gun.
 
If want to go weird, see if you can find a Mauser M2. 45 ACP, rotating barrel lockup, striker fired, designed by Sig with Mauser plastered all over the slide.
 
I’m a die hard 1911 fan, but it it comes to shooting fast an accurately with .45 ACP in a non 1911, I’ll be shooting my S&W performance center 625.
 
Sorry for the typo, it is a 625 and I forgot how sweet it is. 2lb. SA trigger and 7lb DA but so smooth it feels like 4#s. I'm still in the hunt for a "deal" on a full-size M&P, but a search for most anything else is over. There isn't any plastic fantastic gun out there to compare. And as it ain't for concealed carry, it's size (4" barrel) and weight is no impediment for shooting at the range or outdoors when the weather breaks. The outdoor area I usually shoot in, the Mt. Baker, WA wilderness, currently has about 14 feet of snow covering it. I think I'm waiting a bit.

I been a revolver guy for a long time, I could hit stuff at 50 yds with a 1911a1. Groups not so good till I built my own 1911a1. I’m really good with a 1911 now.
 
If I had to choose a striker fired 45 ACP I’d look at the Glock, Sig Sauer P320, Walther PPQ, and Springfield XDM Elite. I’ve tried to like the M&Ps but I just can’t.
 
Glock 21. Big, blocky, runs 100%, plenty accurate, holds almost a 1/3 a box of rounds, simple. One of the last guns I'd worry about having during that stupid "what's the one gun you'd own when the zombies arrive" threads........
 
For carry my Taurus PT145 is about as good as it gets IMO.
10+1 rounds in a package just a little smaller and lighter than my 7+1 457.
The 457 is higher quality and has more collectability and cachet, but for a tool (CCW) it is pretty hard to beat.
 
Forget striker fired plastic and buy a 457. Send it to member guzzitaco for his mods and refinish. You will be glad you did. Good luck! Regards 18DAI

Isn’t your Sig an aluminum frame gun?
 
My vote would be a Glock but a 41 rather than a 21. They are lighter and slimmer than a 21 despite having a longer slide and barrel.
