Best Ammo for my Wifes Model 60

I have a Model 60 no dash that I has been my bedside gun for more years than I care to remember. Recently my wife took a shine to it. As I was not about to give up my old friend, I searched around and found one for her, polished it up and put a set of pink Hogues on it for her.

My question is this. What would be the most comfortable ammo for her to shoot?

I want her to enjoy shooting it and build up some confidence in her ability to put shots where they count.

Wadcutters or cowboy action loads. Either have mild recoil and should work well for your application. The Hogue's will be a big help as well. Good luck and have fun.

Practice with 148gr wadcutters, which are very low recoil. As for a defensive/carry load; I recommend Federal® Premium® 125gr Nyclad™ Hollow Point (#P38MA) Standard Pressure. This is a low recoil round but a very good carry load. My wife (62) has arthritis in her hands but shoots these two loads w/o a problem.

I think a good combination would be 125gr Federal Nyclads for self-defense and 130gr FMJ from any of the major manufacturers for practice. This is what I use for my 642.

Is there a noticable difference in recoil between the UMC 130gr FMJ @ 790fps and the 148gr wadcutters @ 710fps?
