my understanding of that law, and i could be wrong, but it stops companies from selling/shipping to you if you live where it is illegal... not that its a against the law for you to try and buy it... all they will say is they cant do ship it to you if your state doesnt allow it... call cheaper than dirt and ask if they will ship to your state

How does one find out about local laws pertaining to buying ammo online? Everything I've looked up refers to New York city and that's it.

Big ammo sellers such as Midway USA and Natchez can tell you if they are allowed to ship to your zip code.

Edit: The vendor in this link says can't ship to NYC or its 5 buroughs.
