Best Ammo?

Pick anything CCI that you like and you shouldn't have any issues. CCI Blazer, CCI Tactical, and CCI Mini-Mags run flawless in all three of my M&P 15-22's.
I bought a box of the "Golden Bullets" before reading the manual, only to find out that S&W recommends not using them. I used them anyway, and they have been one of the most accurate rounds I've tried to date. Went through 500+ of them without a single issue. Otherwise, I agree with the CCI recommendation.

I just use the Federal Bulk Pack. It is the cheapest and gives me no hiccups.
Everyone's gun seems to like different ammo though. I would buy a bunch of all different kinds and then just use whatever works best for you.

Federal Bulk (Wally-World) has worked great for me.

Mine isn't picky at all. So far it's the least picky 22 semi I won. My favorite ammo (most accurate) is CCI SV. Then again, this is my favorite ammo in general.

Yeah federal bulk box is good and only run 15 bucks here at my local walmarts.

That's exactly what I've settled on.
I've tried everyting from Golden Bullets to Wolf Match (which I usually use in my Savage MKIIs) with many in-between and aside from the about a 1-in-2 magazine FTF with GBs (which I pretty much consider normal for any of my 22s if I use that it in) it has been a trooper. WM Federal bulk 550 packs have become the staple for my 15-22. Cheap, reliable (at least in mine) and very acceptable accuracy to the 50 yards I normally shoot the 15-22 out to.
I also feed that as a regular diet to my 22/45 and my P22 with excellent results for 'a day at the range'.

If you want to check out CCI .22 LR AR Tactical Copper Plated 40 grain, designed for semi-automatics like the 15/22. If you can find it. Going for $19.53 for 375 rounds.
I'm trying to find it at a store, but may have to order it on line..
Update: Found some in San Bruno Calif. at Tabor's Gun Shop, this stuff if a 10 out of 10, CCI did their homework. You can't asked for a better 22LR round, solid performer, Jacketed Bullet and tight in the brass case, good primer with 99.9999% ignition. This ammo shoots with minium flyers, I am very impressed with this ammo and it will be the ammo I purchase for my M&P 15/22 from now on.

I just ran 5, 25 round mags of cci blazers thru my 15-22 and It hated the CCI Blazers . I had about 2 dozen fail to fire and almost as many f to feed. Maybe the feed issues were due to improper mag loading, but the fire issues were all due to the ammo.The rim was properly struck and I tried to reshoot several and none did fire.
I guess my rifle just doesn`t like blazers.
It definitely did like the Aquilla hv stuff and of course the CCI mini mags were good as well. I also shot a bunch of winchester wildcats and they did fine too.
I just need to avoid the blazers.
Does anyone have some tips for good mag loading technique?

My experience is that .22LR rifles and pistols are all ammunition sensitive to some degree.
For example bulk Winchester Super-X 36gr HPs in the 333 packaging runs nearly flawlessly thru mine but some other highly regarded ammo will not. I buy it by the 3330 round case as it also works well in my other .22s.
Aquilla powderless shoots well in my basement. Won't cycle the actions but feeds.

I'll have to disagree with you on the Blazers.
(40 gr round nose 1235 fps.)
I have a new 15-22 and have fired over 2000 rounds thru it since Christmas day. I have cleaned the rifle twice.
I have had 100 % success with this ammo, and not one problem of any kind with it. It is very accurate out to 100 yds...(the furthest I've shot it)....shooting clays and pieces of clays thru a TruGlo red dot.
Blazers are also the more economical round to shoot in my area, lgs @ 14.99 for 525 rounds and occasional sales @ 13.99 per 525 rds.

Are these Blazers dry or do they have a wax coating on the bullet?
I turned from wildcats ( ran out
) to cci blazers. Mine had a little bit of a waxcoating on the bullet but i experienced quite a number of FTF. And that didn't happen with the winchester wildcat.

So far I've used CCI Tactical and Federal Bulk. Both work great. Federal is a good bit cheaper.

I believe all CCI's are wax coated, I'll check the CCI Tactical bulk I just purchased, I just don't remember but i think they are dry no wax..

Update, checked the CCI Tactical 22LR, and they are very lightly waxed, which I think is good, helps lub feeding in the mags and breach. Side by side with the CCI Blazers, they are not waxed as much. I got 3 boxes of CCI Tactical and they are all the same level of waxing..

I too have shot over 2000 rounds thru my 15-22 since Christmas and have used many different brands of ammo. Winchester 555, 333, and Super X have worked well. CCI Mini-Mag, Federal Bulk, and Remmington Golden Bullets have also worked well. The CCI Mini-Mags worked the best with no failure-to-fires or failure-to-feeds. All the rest have had a few failure-to-fires but none have had failure-to-feeds. The failure-to-fires appear to be defects with the rounds because the firing pin leaves a substantial mark on the rim.
This gun is fun to shoot at the local range. I am glad that .22LR ammo is so cheap, otherwise I would end up spending a ton of money on ammo.

My 15-22 seems to prefer PMC Zappers that come in the orange/white 250 round half bricks (five 50 round boxes). They seem to work just a slight bit better than CCI Mini-Mags. It also works well with some old Federal Classic that I have in the 10 box/500 round bricks. Federal Champion value pack bulk work well also and it will do fair with the Remington Golden Bullets although I get a lot of fail to fire with them. Less fail to fires with the Federal Champion but one creeps in occasionally. Balancing on the hood of the tractor using a Trijicon Reflex sight, the PMC Zappers shot a ragged hole at 25 meters using a 25 round magazine. There were a couple of flyers off to the left but I think that was more due to me than the ammo.
We haven't figured out what my wife's 15-22 likes in the way of ammo yet but it doesn't seem to like the Remington Golden Bullets at all.
