best bang for the buck scope ( under $100)

I ordered the M4 on Monday. It's waiting on my kitchen table today... holy fast shipping. will be giving it a go saturday morning. I also bought it based on lots of great reviews around the web.

We have been very impressed with the hammers red dot.. we have been paying 50 shipped for them and have bought 3 in the last couple months nothing but good things to say about them

Which one of the Hammers RDS's are you using? The 2x42mm looks pretty interesting and quite affordable. I found a video of one being used on an AR15 and it looks to be quite good. You can also remove the 2x magnifier and use it as a 1x42.

I am running a Centerpoint Wal-Mart special scope on my 10/22 and it's been pretty sweet so far.. I've got around 2,000 rounds through it..

That's the one my friend... whe have had great luck with them and. The 2 x works great on a rimfire.. like I said I'm running mine on my belt fed gun right now which works well but I've got some great times on our tac cours running it on an m&p.... its quick on targets and comes in handy on the 50 yd shots after running 50 yds threw the course

The diameter of the objective lens. Generally, larger is better - wider field of view and more light gathering potential

The first # is magnification, second # is obj lense (field of view). The bigger the 2nd #, the more area your eyes can cover through the optic. Red dots are typically zero magnification so it should read 1x11, 28, or whatever it is you've got. 28 is on the small side while 11 is just rediculously small imo.

Did you need to use a riser with the Hammers 2x42 to co-witness?

Makes perfect sense to me. I'm one of those right-handed, left-eye-dominant guys, so I have a hard time with irons when shooting "naturally". Thanks for the feedback bro

I went round and round looking for a "value priced" scope for my 10/22 a few months back..

Well, after looking I bought the CenterPoint 4-16x40mm.. This scope rocks.. I paid $64 for it...

Anyone know what the size of the dot is on the Centerpoint redot at Walmart? 5 MOA? I can't find it anywhere on the package.

Centerpoints work great on air rifles too, my centerpoint cascaded down over time to my squirrill assault rifle with excellent results. (Gamo whisper)
