Who makes the most reliable mag extensions? It looks like one company offers a +2 on the 7 round mag, and one offers a +2 on the 8 round mag?

I have a Strike Industries +2 on my 7rd mag which fits fine with the contours of the gun...they don't fit well with the 8rd tho. I have 5 8rd mags with Hyve +2 extensions on them...so far no problems with them...I think Tyrant also makes an extension that is very similar to the Hyve I've never had ProMag or MagNuts...don't care for them only because of their reputation for failing.

Thanks guys, I like the looks of the Tyrant Tactical but want to go from 8 to 10 rounds for my spare carry mag. The 7 + 2 is also a good backup.

I just received my Strike Industries+2 extension and I like the look and feel but did not receive the locking plate or locking screw that was supposed to be included. Very disappointed to say the least, especially since I can find no way to email them except on Facebook. Messaged them today on Facebook but no idea if they ever reply to Facebooks messages.

Did you get two or just one? When I bought mine I received two in the package with allen screws and plates with allen wrench...off Ebay

I highly recommend Taren Tactical plus 2. Bought the blue version and love it. Simple install and fully functional. However it is very difficult to get the 10th round in at first. Wonderful customer service.

I have Strike Industries. They fit and blend with the contour of the Shield nicely.

MagGuts.

8+1 with S&W OEM flush fit mag plate. $20

With the extended mag plate, +2 in either the 7 or 8 round mag, about $33.

I have many of these setup for my 2 Shields, with lots of rounds down range, no issues at all.

Magguts +2 for me. Never had any malfunctions. Also the extension doesn’t slide around like the factory mag.

I use Magguts +2 for a total of 10+1 rds. I am somewhat concerned since Macs latest vid about the Glock 43X when compared to the Shield he states that the Magguts in his Shield were nice but only worked 98% of time then failed to feed!

But dont know how long ago this was since the 1st gen had issues and then the Gen 2 in also had issues for 3 months and those were recalled in 2016, but even the gen 2 should not be loaded using a loader since on the 1st rd. the mags feed lip want to jump out of the mag.

Called Magguts and they say load 1st & 2nd round manually!

They fit just fine 100% on the 8 rd. mags, have 1 on my 7 & 8 rd mags.

On the 8 rd. mag U have to still use the mag slider above the extension and while the 7 rd. mag looks great the 8 rd. mag with the slider and then the + 2 extension below looks "SICK/Ugly" and is just to long!

Looks fantastic on the 7 rd. mag!

I have three 8- round mags with Hyve plus two extensions giving me 10+1 capacity. No problems. The 7-round magazine definitely is easier to conceal.

Why don't they fit the 8 round mags?
I didn't say they don't fit on the 8rd...they just don't fit well...as akdude said..."looks SICK/ugly"...I said they don't fit well with the contours of the gun, (because of the mag spacer) I have one on my 7rd mag and I like it...I put one on my 8rd and took it right back off. Since then I've put Hyve's on all 5 of my 8rd mags and then wrapped grip tape around them. I carry the 7+2 Strike Industries in the gun and the Hyve's in mag pouches. The Hyve +2 on 8rd's ARE to long for conceal carry...the Strike Industries +2 on the 7rd is not. And the Strike Industries on the 7rd actually gives you a nice grip on the gun...better than a Pearce Pinky extension...which also feels good but gives no increase in capacity.
I definitely recommend the Pearce Pinky ext on the 7rd if your not looking to increase capacity...it's inexpensive and gives a nice feel.
