Trijicon makes Shield-specific Bright & Tough and HD night sights now.

I'm going to get the Bright & Tough one's since the HD front sight is too tall for my taste. https://www.trijicon.com/na_en/products/product3.php?pid=SA39-C-600714

Trijicon isn't the cheapest but they make the best tritium sights, IMO. Ameriglo uses the same tritium tubes made by Trijicon and are much less expensive but I still prefer Trijicon. It's personal preference in the end.

Ameriglo, hands down, have them on my 40 compact. I wouldn't worry about night sights on my EDC weapon. Unless it was my only weapon and was using it for home defense as well. Not going to help you much in the heat of the moment. You will miss 7 out of 10 shots if that moment arrives, just luck of the draw. Adrenalin will take over and you will find your shots random, unless you have specialized training.

Another Ameriglo user - I-Dot 245's. Tried the TFO's and just didn't care for them... different strokes I suppose. More of a color issue, which is on me, not a fault of the sights. The 245's are green/orange which is a better contrast for me. I have color vision issues (thanks mom! :( lol ) so the green/yellow seemed to "blend" together, I guess is the best way to say it.

Anyway, TFO's are very popular, I just prefer the I-Dot "strait 8" arrangement.

I've got big dot on my 9 but am having an ameriglo installed on my 22. Will let you know... ;)

I hope you really don't believe that????
If you really believe this you probably shouldn't be carrying a Shield, or any gun for that matter. If you think you will miss 7 out of 10 times, you should be carrying a can of mace and a rape whistle.

If you're really worried about quick target aquisition and accurracy at low light, then you will NOT be using your sights to aim. I recommend the Crimson Trace trigger guard laser for the Shield. There's nothing better to put the fear of God into your local idiot than a red beam stuck on his chest. It makes the sight of a gun in your hand all the more effective. That said, I still have the TruGlo TFO for backup. It works.

I just put TFO's on my shield. I don't know if they're the best, but so far I like 'em.

Same as my 245's, which have single rear dot under notch instead of standard 2 dot config. Very nice, easy to acquire.

Ameriglo SW-345 on my Shield 40. Love them.

+1 Really great sights and my choice for the Shield.

If you train properly, you can make fast and accurate shots with a flash sight picture even under stress. I only advocate point shooting at very close contact distances. Bill

I have the TruGlo TFO's...as far as the tritium...they are awesome....The sight picture for me is a little odd...not quite sure what it is...I don't know if its me focusing too much on the rear sight or what it is.... they look awesome...but i think I wish that I could have went with the Ameriglos...I think having a different color front sight or at least a large orange ring around the front sight makes it a bit easier to line up quicker.....

I am not doubting the TFO's for a sec....they do work and they work well....just might not be the best sight for me....

Really thinking about the ATS sights....

I really like my TRU-GLO TFO's. Very nice...quick site pick-up and alignment for me.

I got my ameriglo in and installed on my M&P22. I only ordered the front (orange ring with tritium) and I think it's pretty awesome. I use this gun for fun at the range and it stays in my wife's bed stand at night for SD in case she needs something.

Compared to the big dot on my 9 FS. In light I can certainly see the orange better and in dark they both are about the same. The ameriglo is slightly smaller. If my big dot pvc pops out again, I'll replace it with the ameriglo front only on my 9.
