Best screwdriver to fit the tiny K22 sight screws?

My favorite is the #1 Forster Bonnaza, I’ve used one for the smallest S&W screws since the early 70’s.

But for the really small thin screws, the Wiha bit set is the best, I’ve never damaged a screw with one.

Can anyone point me to a quality screwdriver with the proper tip to perfectly fit the tiny K22 sight adjustment screws? I have tried several and they don’t fit well. An original Sight Adjustment Tool (SAT) would be awesome but I don’t have the money for that. I do have the money for a quality hollow ground and properly heat treated screwdriver. Does Grace make one or Wera or similar?

What about a set of eyeglass screwdrivers?

You can get a small set of watchmakers screwdrivers which come in ridiculously small to usable on gun screws and all prices at places like Otto Frei, Jules Borel CasKar etc. They range from cheap well made French and Chinese to Swiss Bergeon which are expensive. They will do what you want to do on those small S&W sight parts. They are all well made.

On some of those tiny S&W screws you may have to grind a driver bit down to fit. I did on a top break for the stock screws. Very tiny and you need a robust handle to turn them. Eyeglass drivers won't work.

Anybody measure the thickness and width of a screwdriver that fits the screw in question? I have a ridiculously large screwdriver set and if you can tell us the thickness and width that will fit the screw slot, I can check among mine to see if I have one that fits and if so, I can advise where I got it.

Brownells offers a S&W specific set of hollow ground slotted screw tips for their "MagnaTip" gunsmith screwdriver sets. The MagnaTip S&W screwdriver has 4 bits with the sizes needed to do anything you need on any S&W revolver. The smallest bit in the set is for those sight screws.
Interesting I have a k22 pre 17 that I have nothing that fits the side plate screws. I should just take the grips off and spray oil in it and let it drip dry.

It’s the only S&W revolver that has screws that need a blade thinner than anything I have.

Brownells sells a screwdriver with bits that store in the handle purposely built for every screw on a S&W revolver. They are really nice

I am going to have to try to size my slot width on my 1955 K22 with feeler gages if possible. I actually have a Forster Bonanza that broke the second time I used it because it had a material defect. I still have half the original blade and use it but I am tempted to grind it back to fit that screw.
