Giz, Misty,
Thank you for your kind words. It was a fun project and a great learning experience Only problem is I used to use this #3 for ground hogs but now I’m afraid to take it out in the field. The good part is that this project gave me the confidence to try something I always wanted to do. Build a Flint Lock from scratch. It’s almost finished. Here is a link to it.

Here's my classiest 22-single shot; a Win-85 low wall take-down:

I'm not very accurate with it due to the unfortunate combination of my poor eyesight and the guns tiny sights, but younger people (my kids) that can see those sights tell me that it's pretty accurate (much to my annoyance). Some recent frustrating results:

Just looked at the muzzle loader page, that is incredible, absolutely incredible. I'm looking forward to seeing the rifle completely finished.

Here's a couple of .22 single shots you don't see very often for the "unusual" category.

The first one is a Hartford Arms & Equipment Co.(predecessor to High Standard). An early catalog describes the finish on the receiver as "mottled". Would that mean Case Colored?
According to the current "Survivor Files" it appears that the whole production of around 1600 guns was shipped in 1933.
This was after Hi Standard bought Hartford, so I assume they were just using up existing parts from the old company.

Note: Money saved by not providing a magazine.:D

And not having to mill a mag well.

I understand there was also a manual repeater made on this frame. (magazine fed just like the semi-auto, but you had to cycle the slide manually.) however I have never seen one. (If anyone has one, I would be interested.;))

The second .22 single shot is one I can't find much information on. I've seen it in some old catalogs but haven't found any estimates at production, etc.
It is a Hopkins & Allen Single Shot Target Pistol....
(Looks like they were trying to get on the S&W SS Bandwagon.:D)

Here's my one and only and it's one of my most treasured firearms. It was my Uncle Al's. When he was a kid of around 10 he traded a neighborhood kid whose mother was very unhappy he had a rifle a Boy Scout knife for it.

This little Stevens was one of the first "real" guns I ever shot. It was his favorite bunny and frog gun up until he quit hunting in his 60's.

wundudnee,

A friend had one of those thumb trigger Winchesters. We shot a lot of .22 shorts and longs through it.

What year is your 8N tractor? Mine is a '49, with the distributor on the front of the engine.

wuwdudnee,
Looks like you are into these older single shots!
Maybe you can satisfy my curiosity on a Stevens Favorite I picked up a few years ago. One thing that seemed strange to me is where it is marked and the way it is marked. The only marking on the full length octagon barrel is the caliber. (No Stevens marking). Also, the receiver markings are a little different than others I've seen.

Here are some pictures.....
