Ok, I've got a 4" 1950's Target I want some ammo for. The new stuff is just expensive and I'm really just plinking with it. Not for personal defense or anything. I'll shoot paper, steel, and occasionally bowling pins :)

If you know of any reliable new production that's not crazy expensive, please post a link.
or
If you know of a very reliable company that sells reloads (I don't want to risk damaging the revolver), please send me a link.

I'm in the same boat for some 32 Mag ammo.
Someone had suggested Reedsammo.com and they had good prices on the 32 mag ammo. I'm waiting on them to email back to find out what kind of brass they use.

Anyone here ever used Reed's Ammo?

So, if you know of an inexpensive source for some accurate/reliable 44 Spc. general plinking ammo, please let me know. I'd like to pick up a few hundred rounds.

Thanks in advance,
Sam

Second the GA Arms. I have shot several of their calibers. Just shot their 44 special on Thursday. I trust them.

I've never used their 44 Spl ammo, but I've used Georgia Arms in other calibers, and via that experience, I'd vouch for them.

Why not do a little reloading yourself? For a small number of rounds you're wanting, in a couple calibers, you could get set up with a kit for little more than 10 boxes of ammo: Lee Precision Factory Sales - Reloading Press Kits

Cheaper Than Dirt has BVAC Ammo @ good prices. This is heavier (240 grain) 44 Special --- and it's in good, Starline brass in case you want to reload at some point. I've used it --- good ammo.

Or if you're just going to buy a few boxes, price CCI Blazer in .44 spl locally. If you're not paying shipping, you might not have to pay that much more, and you'll get Gold Dot hollow points to boot.

One more Georga Arms fan here.

Literally tens of thousands of .38 Specials (picked up another thousand-plus yesterday), with goodly numbers of .45 AutoRim, .44 Special, .32S&W Long, .40S&W, and a little .32 H&R. Plus odds and ends. :D

They also buy back brass.

Really nice folks to deal with. I just have them bring what I need to the next gunshow I'm attending. No credit card needed to reserve an order; they take you at your word that you'll pick it up. Always remember regular customers. (When they were loading the truck last week and he saw the cans of .38 SWC sitting there he goes "I know who gets those!")

Their website lists their show schedule. I always _phone_ to check availability.

Regards,

Pat

Thanks, I'd heard if them, but they were out of 32 mag ammo, and was trying to get it all from one place. I'll check back with them.

So, anyone ever use Reed's ammo? They emailed me back over the weekend and said they used starline brass also and had some 32 mag on the shelf.

I always save my brass. I either give it away to so
Someone who could use it, or sort it by caliber and the brand and keep it in case I ever get into reloading. I have access to a full set of reloading equipment. I just need someone to show me how to use it. Only problem is, I don't do anything half way, so I'm sure my workshop would look like an ammo plant after a month and I'd have spent more than 10x what I should have, stockpiling components.

I have 3 young boys and run a family business, so time is my most valuable assett right now. I'm better off buying ammo and saving the brass for another 10 years before I have time to pick up any new hobbies.

Ill let y'all know how it works out.
