I traded a M28 in towards a M&P Shield at a LGS in the Auburn area of ME. It was post factory nickel plated and made in 1975. I did the research on this when I first got it and it was definitely post factory nickeled and not one of the rare nickel brushed guns. Some of the blueing is showing in places. When I traded it in I told him it was nickeled over blue.
I went to a gun show today and saw the dealer is pushing it as the rare brushed nickel model for $1000. If you live in Maine I just want to warn anyone to stay aware from this gun. He also sells on GB for any one else not living in Maine.
It is fine with me that he is trying to make a $600 profit on the gun, but it pisses me off that he is trying to pass it off as something it is not.
I hope to save some unsuspecting buyer
