This seller is not to be trusted to adhere to even the most basic of generally accepted standards concerning buying and selling among those of us in the firearms collecting fraternity.
See link to his Classified Ad posting: http://smith-wessonforum.com/guns-sale-trade/438634-wts-pre-lock-uncatalogued-sw-042-a.html
After a rather extended wait, I finally received the gun, and- only the gun -this morning. As we've communicated the past two weeks plus, I contacted the seller by cell-text as to the whereabouts of the blue hard case shown in the photos. He informed me that the case in the photos was only used to 'display' the gun for the ad photos and didn't come with the gun. During a subsequent phone call he turned me down flat on either a return/ refund ('cause he's already committed the money to someone else...and can't afford it) or, even a partial price reduction. He made every excuse in the universe, up to and including deliberately misstating the facts and his attitude was total indifference. His final words when we hung up were: "hey, maybe I made a mistake using the box in the pics, and maybe I should've said the box doesn't come with the gun, but you bought it on the Internet and sometimes you get screwed on there and there ain't nothing you can do about it and that's the way it goes, and I ain't doing nothing about it."
Shortly after we hung up he sent a couple texts to my cell, from which I partially paraphrase and/ or quote verbatim "I talked to another dealer who said 'someone got a great deal' and another dealer has one of these for sale now for more money". Along with "Sorry, but you could sell that for more than the refund". And "but at least you got a fair and reasonable deal. I'm not in the business to be able to refund a sale".
If a deal like this this goes against your grain as much as it does mine, great. If you don't see a problem with one Forum member doing another member (or anyone else, for that matter) this way, no problem.
However, as they say on TV, "You (forum members) do need to know"………

ps: For anyone who might question my motive(s) in buying this gun, in light of what we do for a living, I bought this gun to keep. You won't find it on my website or on Gunbroker in the future, ever - at any point in time. DLC
