I received Galloway item yesterday. There was nothing wrong with my OEM rod other than fitment, I don't like the protrusion. I will say I can make the OEM rod bind because of its design and know the workaround if it happens. Anyway, the Galloway looks better quality wise although both rods could be 1/8" shorter imo. Time will tell if Galloway works with different design. Forgot to mention, Galloway tension is stronger.

Only one spring? How does that affect the recoil? And pulling the slide back to chamber a round?

I ran a Galloway (OEM Weight) for a while mainly because of the issues with reassembly with the OEM .

Within the first couple of hundred rounds I started to experience failures to go fully into battery. Mainly on the first round out of a mag. It only happened a few times but that was enough for me to go back to the factory one .

Since then no more issues . The Galloway seemed well made and designed but on a carry gun I lost confidence with it installed. Not bashing Galloway just it is not for my gun. Your millage may vary.

Same thing happened to me almost one year ago when I bought a Galloway recoil spring. Went through 4 OEM springs and finally got one that worked. This whole experience has been 8 miles of bad road.
