I just bought a BG 380 for Christmas and wondered if there are as many problems with them as I am reading about or is it like a new car, you never see one like yours until you buy one?

I've had one about a year and have had no issues with it. About the only thing I don't like about it is the takedown lever. It can be a pain getting it out clean the gun.

I've had the "old" one with the laser for 2 years and never had a problem with it. Runs great and shoots straight.

I have the original with laser version and no real issues (though I did swap the transfer bar to get an earlier break point). For the take down lever I often use the floor plate on a magazine for better leverage. Or rather I should say I ise the magazine by placing the floor plate against the lever, I don't disassemble the mag just to use the floor plate.

I have an original BG380 with the laser and it has functioned just fine for me. The laser did stop working shortly after I got it, but S&W quickly sent me a replacement laser when I let them know about it. I have had it for a couple of years now and it is my EDC during the summer months.

It's a great little gun. I've had one for a couple of years, used as primary EDC or backup.
Forget the stories and enjoy your purchase. Besides, if there are ant legitimate issues with it S&W will surely take care of them.
Happy shooting! P.S. I recommend putting a Pachmayer grip on it. The improvement in grip feel and recoil mitigation is well worth it.

OK something wrong with this thread no one is saying how bad they are.

I assume you got a newer version without the laser or with the CT laser.

We also have a early one with the laser lite laser, and haven't had any problems with it either. Like everything else I guess you can get a good one or you can get a lemon and the lemon's speak out which is good as then you know what to look for. OBTW keep a eye on the laser screw if you got the laser version, blue is your friend here. I also don't know if anyone is having any problems with the CT laser screws but just in case better to be safe then sorry.

We've had my Wife's for almost two years, no problems except for one fte with Critical Defense, may have been a limp wrist. I carry it occasionally instead of my Shield 9.

380 problems

I recently purchased a BG 380 without the laser. Cleaned it before I took it out to fire. I had several misfires with it and it never once ejected the rounds. I spoke with S&W , they suggested I send it to them, Anyone have this problem of not ejecting rounds.
