Well, took my new m&p 40 with truglo two sights to the range today to see how she did.......

About 8-9 yards and that's 4 mags (60 rounds).

Oh my, was very nice. Shot smooth and easy. I was surprised at the trigger after hearing all the horror stories. I am a 3rd gen guy all the way, but after today........

The m&p has replaced my 4566 as the "bump in the night" gun. I wouldn't trade any of my 3rd gens for anything, but I am very impressed with the striker fire m&p.

I talked to my 3rd gens and they have accepted the m&p once they met her. I mean hey, if your wife likes your girlfriend all seems ok me...... Just might be a little more expensive :)

Ill give you guys a minute to think.........

That's why what I read on the internet, I take with a grain of salt. You cant totally rely on one's bad review or praise, you need to find out for yourself.....to an extent.

Congrats' I am also a 3 gen guy but yesterday went into my LGS and was pleasantly impressed with how well the M&P felt in my hand......I also read horror stories about the trigger and had my own self doubts about the trigger. I was shocked and surprised as to the "safety" I felt pulling the trigger through it range of motion. Needless to say my new M&P 357 Sig is on the desk next to me. Haven't shot it yet but will hopefully over the next couple days.
PS: I already ordered the .40 barrel for $89..........

I ordered the 9 mm barrel and mags for my 40, hope it shoots as well in that config.

Not sure how I feel about the thumb safety, kinda gets in the way and if I ride it with my thumb I seem to shoot to the right, causes some thumb squeeze.

Seems easy to remove, but not sure yet. I was always unsure about the safety overall of these new pistols, but now that I have got tent know it better I can see they are safe as anything else, with it without the thumb safety.

Have to figure out the grip size I like too, got the small on now but flirting with the big one.

yeah i went with a thumb safety on mine as well kinda second guessing it now, but watched a video on removing the safety its simple, just leaves the two open notches on the gun where the switch would be.
