I shoot with my K or L frame 4"/6" to include 686, 14-5 and a HB PPC 6".

They are all equipped with the older Bill Davis rubber grip (large) with the single finger groove.

I can rip the finger tips out on 2X gloves, so my hands and finger length is likely 3X.

it seems the Bill Davis grip is too thin for me as my trigger finger tip is always contacting my support hand during trigger press.

I am looking for something that will fit my hands better.

Will Factory Targets do the trick but they are not as long as the Bill Davis grip?

Is there something available like the Bill Davis grip with some additional width?

Nill grips seems to be that ticket, but I hate to invest and then they don't work for me.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try the Hogue full overlays, the wood grips that do not feature the back strap cut out's, they add 1-2 inches in circumference.

thanks for the info.

are full overlays no longer made?

I could not find anything on the website that indicates full overlay or looked like it covered the back strap.

Check out the Altamonts too, some of theirs cover the back strap. You can call them and they'll scale a grip to your hand, at least they used to.

I shot ol Bill's 19 with those Trooper grips. Now I know how some wimmen feel tryin' to shoot a N frame with Targets on it.

That feller had hands like a steam shovel.

A pair of custom fit Herret's will solve your problem

Hogue made me a grip because of the need for a larger size. They had me trace my hand several ways, and send the information along with a check, which was the same as the regular stock grip in the wood I chose-really solved that problem-great folks, and wonderful products. You have to call and be patient.

Being 6-6" 260 , I have similar problems with grips also. (Not to even mention long sleeve lengths). I have found that the Herretts Shooting Stars fill the bill for me just right. They have a palm swell , not unlike old S & W cokes. Might be worth a try nor you.

Regards

Bill

Thanks for the info from everyone. I may finish out the season with the BD and try to get thr replacements for winter practice.

:)

Pachmayr "presentation" models are great for big hands. I use them on all my S&W revolvers. No slip & last forever.

I have big hands too and shoot PPC. I used Jordan troopers for a while but I recently found a older set of mustang grips on e-bay and I use them. They are huge and I live them. I had a forum member checker them. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1345434540.504401.jpg

I am not a large person but have big hands (I can easily 'palm' a basketball). I had a pair of Herrett's made but prefer the shape of the Nill grips. I had never even seen a pair of Nill revolver grips before I bought them but had used Nills on a couple of semi-autos in the past. It could have been an expensive mistake but they are the best grips I have tried (especially since I disliked all of the rubber grips I tried).

The Nills have the 'palm swell' and cover the backstrap, both of which I find helps a great deal. I use the same pair on a K-Frame and an L-Frame (686 SSR).

I had a pair of Nill grips and found them a little too big for my average size hands, so they might work well for someone with big hands. I got lucky, in that the Nill grips came as an extra set of grips for a model 627 that I bought. I have heard that the Nill grips are sometimes difficult to purchase here in the US. If you can get a pair then by all means try them, if not I suggest contacting Herrett grips. They will make a set of custom grips just for your hand size. Their web site has directions on how to lay your hand on a piece of paper and trace the outline so they can make a set of grips that will fit your hand.
