Hi

Anyone that knows what caliber/twist the 38 apex barrels has on the
Bill Davis windmaster?

Have a gun in euorpe but the barrel is totaly gone so to make a perfect replacement we need to know the caliber and twist on the
orginal barrel

I would have expected the caliber to be marked on the barrrel. The nominal diameter of the grooves for .38 Special would have been 0.357-0.358 inches. I'd expect the twist rate to be 1-10 inches. You might use a tight fitting patch/bore brush on a free spinning handle to verify the twist. The other typical twist rate would have been 1-14 inches, which would also have been much more versitile as to what bullets it would handle. The 1-10" twist is pretty much limited to wadcutter loads.

If Apex is the barrel maker, they might be able to advise you as to exact twist rate. Bill Davis is no longer in business.
