bipod or front grip

Depends on what style of shooting you do. Or just get both.

A question like this on which is better serves no purpose mainly because either one will help you regardless.

It's called a GripPod. I have one and LOVE it! They're a little spendy, but worth it to me. You can find cheap knockoffs that people have had decent luck with on eBay/amazon

I almost went with the mako but ended up with the GripPod for two reasons: 1) if you were laying or just using the bipod in any circumstance, you can still grab the GripPod as a grip as where the mako has to be closed to grab it again. That way with the GripPod the bipod can stay extended while moving/repositioning. I was told this is why our troops are getting the GripPod instead of the mako. And 2) there was a fellow forum member that gave me a great price on one. The GripPod has metal reinforced legs in the le model, and deploys with surprising force. Not taking anything away from the mako, I've handled one and it seems great. I do like the swivel feature on it, just not enough to sway me that direction. Either way, the grip/bipod combo is the way to go IMHO.

GripPod is the way to go. Gives you both options based on what you need and does not take up to much space or add weight.
