Bird hunting......again

Good looking pup and I like the subtle color.
Just curious, why the docked tail?

Many Britts are born with short tails.Others are typically docked.

Jbull380, enjoy your beautiful pup.I had several Britts back in the 60's and '70's when we had many birds. They are wonderful dogs and natural hunters and I used mine on quail, woodcock ( and unlike some dogs they will pick them up), marsh hens, and they would even retrieve the occasional rabbit if you wanted one.

After being "dogless" for 40 years I bought a male Britt last year. At 9 months I took him to a preserve as only pen raised birds now reside in SC.After15 minutes of flirting with a setter,he began to hunt pointing and retrieving. A month later in a wooded pond he retrieved ducks. Last week after my grandson shot a deer, Sammy found the blood trail and recovered the deer.

Oh,yes, he began to bring my slippers of his own volition when he was 6 months age.
